24 Coins Overview

24 Coins is a Hold the Jackpot slot from Wazdan, released through its VoltEnt brand. The logo adds the subtitle Hold the Jackpot – Cash Infinity, and the name describes the grid: 4 reels and 6 rows, or 24 positions, filled with gold coins instead of ordinary symbols. SlotCatalog dates the exclusive launch to 10 August 2024 and the wide release to 10 September 2024.

The published figures are an RTP of 96.15% and a maximum win of 1,200x the stake. Volatility is listed as adjustable rather than fixed, because the Chance Level and the five Bonus Buy tiers change how the game behaves. All figures below come from our demo session, played at a base bet of 50 FUN.

Coins on a Night Sky

The design is simple and bright. The reels float on a deep blue night sky, each empty position shows a faded “24” coin, and the symbols that do land are glowing gold coins with a value printed on them. Red treasure chests, Mystery symbols and a green Jackpot Mystery symbol complete the set.

The jackpot ladder sits on the right, under the logo, and the Chance Level buttons run down the left side. The bottom bar holds the bet presets, the Bonus Buy button and the spin button; holding the space bar switches to an ultra-fast spin.

Four Fixed Jackpots

At a 50 FUN bet the four jackpots read GRAND 60,000, MAJOR 2,500, MINOR 1,000 and MINI 500 – that is 1,200x, 50x, 20x and 10x the bet. The GRAND is exactly the published maximum win, so in this game the top jackpot is the ceiling.

SlotCatalog explains how to reach it: the Grand Jackpot is awarded for filling the grid with bonus symbols during the Hold the Jackpot round. The other three jackpots can land as symbols on the reels.

The Moving Cash Out Frame

The feature that sets 24 Coins apart from Wazdan’s other coin games is the Cash Out frame. It is a highlighted square that sits over one position of the grid and collects the values of the coins that land inside it. In our first capture the frame held 250 and showed a counter of CASH OUT: 3.

According to SlotCatalog, the frame stays active for between 5 and 15 spins, and when it cashes out, the collected amount is multiplied by 10% to 300%. In the next capture a single frame spin was worth 250 FUN, or 5x the bet.

Hold the Jackpot

Enough bonus symbols start the Hold the Jackpot round. The grid turns red, the coins lock in place and the counter starts at 3 respins, resetting whenever a new symbol lands.

The rules screen describes the special symbols. The Collector gathers all the values of Cash and Cash Infinity symbols and multiplies them by a random 1x to 20x. Mystery symbols can turn into any other bonus symbol except Cash Infinity, and Jackpot Mystery symbols can only become MINI, MINOR or MAJOR. All Mystery symbols open one by one at the end of the round.

Our natural round ended with twelve positions filled. By our count the coins added up to 1,050 FUN, plus two MINOR jackpots of 1,000 each – about 61x the bet.

Chance Level

The Chance Level buttons on the left raise the chance of triggering the bonus in exchange for a higher stake. In our demo the options were OFF, x2, x5 and x10; with x5 selected, the 50 FUN base bet became a total bet of 250 FUN. The jackpot values stay tied to the base bet.

Five Bonus Buy Tiers

The Bonus Buy screen offers five versions of the Hold the Jackpot round. At a 50 FUN bet they cost:

  • Low – 2,500 FUN (50x)
  • Standard – 3,750 FUN (75x), with a Mystery symbol
  • High – 5,000 FUN (100x)
  • Extreme – 10,000 FUN (200x), with a Jackpot Mystery
  • Double Extreme – 20,000 FUN (400x)

The more expensive tiers start with more coins and more Mystery symbols. We bought the Double Extreme, and the balance fell from 97,950 to 77,950 FUN. The round filled most of the grid, with a Collector showing 5 × 300, a MAJOR and two MINI symbols, and it paid 11,500 FUN – 230x the base bet, but only a little over half the price of the buy.

Stakes and the Risk Game

SlotCatalog lists one of the widest bet ranges we have seen: from €0.20 to €10,000 per spin. The bottom bar of our demo offered quick presets from 35 to 10,000, so moving between very small and very large stakes takes a single tap.

SlotCatalog also lists Sticky to Infinity Mystery symbols, Cash Infinity symbols and a gamble feature that lets you risk a win for a bigger one. We did not use the gamble in our session, so we cannot describe how it works or what it pays; if you want to try it, the demo above is the safe place to do so.

Who Should Play It

24 Coins suits players who like Hold and Win games and want to control the risk themselves. The Chance Level and the five buy tiers let you choose between a steady session and an expensive chase for the 1,200x Grand.

The top prize is modest compared with many modern slots, but it is clearly shown on screen, and every coin value is printed where it lands.
