40 Hell's Cherries

Fruit On Fire

The reels sit on a dark green cloth background with the 40 HELL’S CHERRIES logo in flaming letters above them. The line count is printed down both sides – 40 and the word LINES on the left, FIXED on the right – because the count cannot be changed. It is a deliberately plain cabinet; everything interesting is on the reels.

The symbols are fruit with the edges alight: plums, grapes, an orange, a pear, a lemon and cherries, plus a golden BAR plate. The burning red 7 is the wild – the game announces it with a “7 IS WILD” banner across the top of the grid – and a golden fruit acts as the scatter.

Five BARs pay 250.00, which is 1,000x the 0.25 line bet – and that is exactly where the game’s advertised 1,000x maximum comes from. Measured against the 10.00 total bet of all forty lines, the same win is 25x. CT’s data sheets always quote the per-line figure, so it is worth keeping the two apart.

Forty Lines, Drawn Out

The information pages include a full diagram of all forty paylines, laid out as forty little 5x4 grids in four rows of ten. It is a rare courtesy – most games make you page through them one at a time – and on a four-row grid it matters, because the lines wander far more than they would on three rows.

The Burning 7

The wild is the piece that turns this from a plain machine into something with teeth. The Golden Scatter

The scatter pays from anywhere rather than along a line. Three of them landed spread across the first, third and fifth reels and the banner under the grid read “SCATTERS: = 20.00” – twice the total bet. It is a small but genuinely useful addition on a game with no bonus round: it gives the grid a second way to pay that ignores the forty lines entirely.

The Two-Step Gamble

The x2 badge in the bottom left is the gamble button, not a spin multiplier. Pressing it opens a card screen with two choices:

Colour gamble – red or black for x2
Suit gamble – one of the four suits for x4

Our round followed a 24.00 win onto the card screen, where the panel offered 48.00 on the colour or 96.00 on the suit. The king of hearts came up, the screen read YOU WIN! and the win became 48.00. A counter in the corner showed 1/2, so two consecutive gambles is the limit.

Above the card sits a strip labelled LAST CARD and 10 PREVIOUS CARDS showing what the deck has recently dealt. It changes nothing about the odds, but it is the kind of detail this genre’s players expect.
