Baccarat Overview

Baccarat is Evolution’s standard live baccarat, released on 6 September 2018. Evolution runs it at a wide range of tables to suit different budgets; our screenshots come from Baccarat A, a table with limits of €20 to €100,000. The cards are dealt face down at a bean-shaped table, the way the game is played in Asian casinos. The video on the left is Evolution’s own studio overview. As a live game there is no free demo.

Bets and Payouts

The main bets are Player, Banker and Tie, with the Tie paying 8:1. Around them the board carries the side bets Evolution lists for this game: Player Pair, Banker Pair, Either Pair and Perfect Pair, plus Player Bonus and Banker Bonus.

How Hands Are Scored

Baccarat is easy to learn because the player makes only one decision: which hand to back. Cards from 2 to 9 count at face value, aces count as one, and tens and picture cards count as zero. Only the last digit of the total matters, so a hand of 7 and 6 is worth 3. A two-card total of 8 or 9 is a natural, and a third card is drawn automatically according to fixed rules. The dealer handles all of it, so there is nothing to learn beyond the betting.

A Winning Hand

With €20 on the Player, the hand showed a 5 and a 4 for a natural 9. The Banker drew two Queens, which count as zero. The result banner read “Player – You Win €40”: the stake back plus an even-money win.

Roads and Statistics

The panels at the bottom corners hold the results history in several formats, known as roads, so players can follow the pattern of the shoe. The game also shows what other players at the table are betting.

At the Table

The dealer works in front of a warm backdrop of autumn foliage, with the shoe on one side and the discard tray on the other. A chat box in the top left corner lets players talk to the dealer; in our session it opened with the message “Your chat privileges have been enabled”. Balance, total bet and last win sit in the bottom left corner.
