Danger Zone Overview

Danger Zone is a multiplayer fish-shooting game from KA Gaming, released on 18 September 2024. There are no reels: you sit at the edge of a shared underwater arena with a cannon, aim at the creatures swimming past, and every catch pays a cash prize based on your shot value. The published bet range runs from $0.01 to $10 per shot.

KA Gaming has not published an RTP, a volatility rating or a maximum win for Danger Zone, and the catalogues we checked list those figures as unavailable, so we leave them out rather than guess. Everything below comes from our own demo session.

Three Rooms for Three Budgets

The game opens on a room selection screen with three cards, each fronted by one of the game’s big creatures:

• Bronze – shots from $0.01 to $0.10, with a spiky anglerfish on the card
• Silver – shots from $0.10 to $1.00, with a purple crab
• Gold – shots from $1.00 to $10.00, with a snarling crocodile

The rooms split the player pool by stake, so a cautious player and a high roller never share the same table. We played in the Gold room at $1.00 and later at $3.00 per shot.

A Crowded Reef

The arena is a dark red seabed with coral along the edges. Schools of sawfish cut across the screen in lines, manta rays glide through the middle, and clownfish, jellyfish, sharks and crabs drift between them. The other seats at the table are marked WAITING FOR PLAYER when nobody is there, and your own cannon sits at the bottom with your balance beside it.

Every catch shows its prize on the spot, so the screen fills with floating figures such as $4.00, $6.00 and $8.00 whenever a group of small fish goes down.

The Controls

A short tutorial overlay labels the four tools around your cannon:

• Option Menu – the side panel with settings and rules
• Auto Fire – keeps shooting without a click for every shot
• Lock Target – fixes your cannon on one chosen creature
• Power Weapon – a special attack with its own price

The plus and minus buttons beside the cannon change the shot value within the limits of the room.

The Power Weapon

The Power Weapon button carries a price tag that follows your stake. At a $1.00 shot it read $6.00, and at a $3.00 shot it read $18.00 – so in both cases it costs six times the normal shot. The game does not spell out its odds, so whether it is worth the price is something to test in the demo.

Big Catches

The large creatures are where the real prizes are. At a $1.00 shot a catch of $376.00 appeared in two of our captures, once over the anglerfish and once over the crocodile, each time with a burst of gold coins across the screen. That is 376x the shot.

Our best moment came at $3.00 a shot, when the purple crab went down for $1,182.00 – about 394x. Glowing rings marked with cash values, such as $15.00, $35.00 and $40.00, also appeared around the arena during the session.

Prizes Scale with the Shot

Raising the stake scales every prize by the same factor. Small fish that paid $4.00 and $6.00 at a $1.00 shot were worth $12.00 and $18.00 once we moved up to $3.00, and the bigger fish around the crab showed $30.00 and $60.00. The multiplier that KA Gaming lists as the game’s main feature works this way: each creature pays a fixed multiple of your current shot, from a few times the stake for the small fish to several hundred times for the largest ones.

That also means the balance moves in small steps most of the time. Across our $1.00 captures it drifted between about $99,170 and $99,380, and in the $3.00 capture it stood at $98,404.90 while the crab’s prize was still being counted on screen.

Who Should Play It

Danger Zone is for players who enjoy arcade-style shooting and want some control over their own pace, rather than pressing spin and waiting. The three rooms make it easy to start small, and the big creatures give every session a target worth chasing.

It is not for anyone who wants a published RTP before playing – for now the free demo above is the only way to see how the numbers feel.
