Duel Skateboards Overview

Duel Skateboards is a five-reel video slot from KA Gaming, played on a 5x3 grid with 243 ways to win. It was released on 13 November 2024. Its features are a skateboard wild, a bottle scatter and a free games round in which the wild can carry a multiplier.

KA Gaming does not publish an RTP, a volatility rating or a maximum win for this game, and the slotcatalog listing shows all three as unavailable. The figures in this review therefore come from the game’s own paytable and from a demo session played at a $125 total bet.

A Skate Park by Day, a Graffiti Tunnel by Night

The base game is set at an outdoor skate park. The reels sit inside a neon frame in green, purple and orange, with a halfpipe, a chain-link fence and a leafy tree in the background under a blue sky.

When the free games start, a skater drops onto the screen on his board, and the reels move into a dark tunnel covered in graffiti tags, lit by bright strip lights. It is a sharp change of mood that makes the bonus round feel like a separate event.

The two top symbols are the rival skaters that give the game its name: a boy with spiky hair and a red hoodie, and a girl with auburn hair. Below them come the kit of the sport – traffic cones, a helmet and a pair of knee pads – and then the card ranks A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 in a graffiti-style font.

The wild is a skateboard splashed with paint and marked WILD. The scatter shows two sports drinks bottles with a splash of colour and the word SCATTER.

How the 243 Ways Work

With 243 ways, a win needs matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel, in any row. The label 243 WAYS runs down both sides of the frame, and a win is shown by red boxes around every symbol that counts.

Because the rows do not matter, one spin can produce several overlapping ways at once. Our capture of four queens across the top row paid $200, twice the $100 that four queens are worth on the paytable, because a second symbol on the third reel doubled the number of winning ways.

The bet in our demo was $125. The control bar holds a NEW BET button, a MAX BET button and a central spin button that also starts autoplay.

The Paytable

The paytable is printed in cash at the $125 bet. The boy skater is the top symbol, paying $1,250 for five, $600 for four and $250 for three. Five of him on one way are worth 10x the total bet.

The girl skater pays $1,000 for five, $500 for four and $200 for three. The traffic cones pay $750, $400 and $150, the helmet $750, $300 and $100, and the knee pads $500, $250 and $100.

Among the card ranks, the ace pays $500 for five and $200 for four, the king $400 and $150, the queen $300 and $100, and the jack $200 and $100. The 10 and 9 are the lowest symbols, paying $100 for five, $50 for four and $25 for three.

The scatter pays in its own right: $250 for three, $1,250 for four and $2,500 for five. Five scatters are therefore worth 20x the bet, twice the best line result on the board.

What the Base Game Paid

Most base-game wins in our session were modest. A short line of aces with the skateboard wild in the middle paid $75, and the four queens along the top row paid $200 through two ways.

A better spin combined a wild on the third reel with several ways at once. The top of the screen announced a single way worth $80, but the total win for the spin came to $270 once the other ways were added, a little over 2x the bet.

These results show the typical rhythm of a 243-ways game: frequent small returns built from three- and four-symbol combinations, with the larger payouts held back for the scatter and the bonus.

Free Games with a Multiplier Wild

Three scatters paid $250 and awarded 8 free games, announced on a neon banner with the message YOU WON 8 FREE GAMES. Slotcatalog also lists additional free spins among the features, so more scatters during the round can extend it.

The scatter does not need to follow the ways rule. In our trigger the three bottles sat on reels two, four and five, each on a different row, and the spin still paid the scatter prize and started the round. The reels without a scatter carried ordinary symbols that played no part in the award.

In the free games the skateboard wild can land with a multiplier attached. On one of our free spins a wild marked x3 sat on the third reel, and a set of kings through it paid $900.00 (3X). The current multiplier is also shown in the top right corner of the screen, where the display read X3.

The side panels change to FREE GAME, and the spin button shows how many free games remain. The TOTAL BONUS WIN counter keeps the running total for the round; it stood at $852.69 on the capture where the 3x win was being counted.

At that point the round had already paid close to 7x the bet, and a single multiplied way was worth more than any base-game line in our session. That is where the game’s value is concentrated.

Who Should Play It

Duel Skateboards will suit players who like street-sport themes and a clear, readable 243-ways layout. The neon art and the switch to a graffiti tunnel for the bonus give it more personality than many slots of this size.

The main caveats are the missing RTP and volatility figures and a base game whose best symbol pays 10x the bet. There is no buy feature, so the free games have to be reached through the scatters alone.
