How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Fire Eagle Reborn Overview

Fire Eagle Reborn is a fantasy slot from Kalamba Games and a new version of the studio’s 2017 Fire Eagle. It uses an expanding reel shape – SlotCatalog describes it as 2-3-4-5-6-6 symbols across six reels – with 50 paylines, and bets run from 0.50 to 100.

Kalamba’s own game data lists the launch date as 1 August 2024 (SlotCatalog gives 8 July 2024), a volatility of 8 out of 10, a hit frequency of 23.44% and a maximum coinciding win of 10,000x – the same figure the game prints in its corner: “Win up to 10000x bet.” SlotCatalog gives the RTP as 94.03%. All figures below come from our demo session at a bet of FUN 100.

An Eagle Rising From the Lava

The reels float over a burning landscape of cracked rock and lava, with dark storm clouds above. The columns get taller from left to right, so the grid looks like a staircase climbing towards the eagle. The paying symbols are gems in ornate metal frames – red, yellow, green and blue – together with runic letters, and the special symbol is the phoenix itself, which arrives as a full wild column.

In the top-left corner a panel shows the current prizes of the bonus wheel. During our session it showed cash values of 1,000.00 and 800.00 and a free spins option of 12 free spins with 2 wild columns.

The Paytable

The paytable is printed in cash for the current stake and pays from three of a kind up to six. At FUN 100 the red gem is the top symbol: six pay 2,000.00 (20x), five pay 200.00, four 50.00 and three 20.00. The yellow gem pays 400.00, 200.00, 40.00 and 20.00, and the green and blue gems both pay 200.00, 100.00, 20.00 and 10.00.

The step from five to six red gems is the largest in the table – tenfold – so the long sixth column matters. Line wins pay from left to right, starting on the first column, and the paytable changes with your bet configuration.

Phoenix Wild Columns

The phoenix is the heart of the game. It covers a whole column as a wild, marked with its multiplier underneath – x1 in most of our captures. Our first base-game win came from exactly that: a phoenix column on the third reel linked several lines and paid 320.00 (3.2x).

In the free spins these columns become the main source of money, and they can grow stronger. At the end of our round the game announced “x2 WILD – transforming starting from the next spin!”, so the phoenix wilds can move up from x1 to x2 during the feature.

Free Spins and the Bonus Wheel

The feature is decided on a bonus wheel. Its segments include cash prizes, a Cashpot and free spins packages defined by two numbers: how many spins you get and how many wild columns come with them. In our captures the wheel offered 6 free spins with 3 wild columns, 12 free spins with 2 wild columns and 12 free spins with 1 wild column, and in one capture a cash prize of 1,500.00 sat between the two free spins options.

Our round was a six-spin package, played at the normal FUN 100 bet after a natural trigger. The second spin added 144.00, taking the total to 344.00, and the third spin paid 1,772.00 in one go, with phoenix columns across the middle of the grid. The round ended at 2,136.00 – about 21x the bet.

The free spins keep the staircase shape of the base game, so a phoenix column on the tall right-hand reels covers six positions at once, while one on the left covers only two or three. That is why the position of the wild columns matters as much as their number: the 1,772.00 spin came with phoenix columns standing in the middle of the grid, where each column touches a large share of the 50 lines.

Buy Bonus

The Buy Bonus button opens three levels of the wheel. At a FUN 100 bet Bonus Wheel Level 1 costs 2,000.00 (20x) and simply spins the wheel; Level 2 costs 4,000.00 (40x) with “boosted odds and enhanced free spins”; and Level 3 costs 10,000.00 (100x) with “the highest odds and enhanced free spins”.

The wheel levels are shown side by side before you pay, each with its own stack of segments – Cashpot, cash prize and free spins – so you can see what you are buying. In our session a Level 3 purchase took the demo balance from 18,056.00 down to 8,056.00 before the wheel was spun, which shows how quickly the top level eats into a bankroll. During a bought round the bet field shows the price of the purchase rather than your normal stake, so the figures on screen should not be read as a base-game bet.

Paylines and Controls

The rules show all 50 paylines as small diagrams across the staircase grid. The game states that “payline wins pay if in succession from left to right from the leftmost column on a valid payline,” and that the paytable reflects the current bet configuration. The controls sit along the bottom: the balance on the left, the spin button and the bet on the right, with separate buttons for autoplay and quick spins. According to Kalamba there is no gamble feature and no persistent feature in the base game, so every spin stands on its own.

From Fire Eagle to Fire Eagle Reborn

Kalamba’s data shows how much the sequel changed. The 2017 Fire Eagle had 60 paylines, a 30.7% hit frequency and a 2,500x maximum; Reborn keeps the same 8/10 volatility but cuts the lines to 50, lowers the hit frequency to 23.44% and raises the ceiling to 10,000x. It also adds the Buy Bonus, which the original did not have.

Reading the Numbers

A 94.03% return is below the usual market average of around 96%, and with a volatility of 8/10 the game is built for long dry spells and occasional large free spin rounds. Fewer than one spin in four pays, according to Kalamba. The paytable itself is modest – six red gems are worth 20x – so the big results have to come from the wild columns in the feature.

Who Should Play It

Fire Eagle Reborn suits players who like high-volatility slots with a clear bonus structure. The wheel shows exactly what is at stake before the round starts, and the three buy levels let you choose how much to pay for better odds.

If you prefer frequent small wins in the base game, this is not the right title; if you enjoy chasing a big free spin round with multiplied wild columns, it delivers exactly that.
