Fortune Coin Link Overview

Fortune Coin Link is an Asian-themed slot from Fugaso, released on 27 June 2024. It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 5 fixed paylines, and it combines a classic line game with a Coin Link respin feature and four fixed jackpots.

Gold, Dragons and Lucky Coins

The reels sit in a red and gold frame decorated with Chinese patterns, under a pot overflowing with gold coins. The premium symbols are lucky charms – a purple treasure, a green qilin, a phoenix medallion and a golden koi – and the low symbols are the letters A, K, Q and J with a small crown or charm in the corner.

A golden dragon tile is the wild, and the coins are the heart of the game: they carry cash values and lead into the Coin Link feature.

Five Fixed Lines

With only five fixed lines the paytable is short. Lines 1 to 3 run straight across the three rows, line 4 is a V and line 5 an inverted V. Wins pay from the leftmost reel, and only the highest win on each line is paid.

That small number of lines explains why the individual prizes are relatively large: each line carries a fifth of the stake.

The Paytable

At a €20 bet the two top symbols pay €1,000 for five, €200 for four and €80 for three – 50x the stake for a full line. The phoenix and the koi pay €500/150/50, and the four letters pay €200/60/20.

The wild substitutes for every symbol except the Bonus and Super Bonus coins, and in our session it did most of the work. One spin with two columns of dragon wilds turned a handful of letters and charms into €220; another, with wilds across the middle of the grid, paid €290 (14.5x).

The Big Line and Other Wins

Our best single spin came from the middle row: three purple treasures with dragon wilds between them completed a five-symbol line and paid €1,000, the full 50x from the paytable. Coins poured from the pot at the top of the screen as the win counted up.

Smaller spins showed the other end of the range – four queens with a wild paid €80, and a column of aces with wilds paid €100 (5x).

Most of the line wins we captured followed the same pattern: a group of letters or charms on the first reels, joined by one or two columns of dragon wilds. The dragon tile fills a whole position and glows when it helps a line, and in several spins it appeared stacked on reels 2 and 3, which is exactly where a five-line game needs it.

The balance moved with those wins. It stood at €3,520 before the €80 queen line, at €3,240 before the €100 ace line and at €4,440 when the €1,000 line landed – a swing of more than €1,000 across a short session at a €20 bet, in line with the high volatility rating.

Four Fixed Jackpots

The jackpot panels at the top scale with the bet. At €20 they read MINI €500, MINOR €1,000, MAJOR €3,000 and GRAND €100,000 – that is 25x, 50x, 150x and 5,000x the stake. The Grand alone is half of the published maximum win.

The Coin Link Feature

Enough coins trigger Coin Link. The regular symbols disappear, the coins stay in place, and a counter on the right starts at 3 re-spins. In our round the grid held coins worth 60, 20, 20, 60, 60, 20 and 40 on the €20 bet, together with a special coin marked with the Chinese character “fu” for good fortune.

On the next re-spin that special coin turned green and showed €280 – exactly the sum of the seven other coins. It works as a collector, gathering the values on the grid into one symbol. SlotCatalog lists this under symbol collection, alongside bonus symbols, respins and multipliers.

The Coin Link trigger we captured had seven cash coins and the special coin spread over reels 3, 4 and 5, with reels 1 and 2 still showing regular symbols. Once the feature started, those two reels turned into empty dark cells, and the counter on the right showed RE-SPINS 2/3 with a total win of €0.00 – the coin values are only paid out when the round ends.

The coin values themselves were modest compared with the jackpots: 20, 40 and 60 on a €20 bet, or 1x to 3x each. Their job is to add up, and the collector coin showed how quickly that happens.

How the Round Builds

With the counter at 2 of 3 after that collection, every new coin would have reset the re-spins, and the grid still had empty positions on the first two reels. That is how the jackpots come into reach: the more coins lock in place, the closer the round gets to a full screen and the Grand.

The Numbers to Keep in Mind

A 96% return is right at the market average. The 12.6% hit frequency is low – on average only about one spin in eight pays anything – and that fits the high volatility rating. Between the wins, the balance can drift for a while.

The 10,000x maximum sits well above the 5,000x Grand, so the top results depend on the Coin Link round combining the jackpot with a grid full of coin values.

The paytable screen spells out the basics: the active lines are fixed at five, line wins pay in succession from the leftmost reel to the right, only the highest win per line is paid, and a malfunction voids all pays and plays.
