Fruits and Bombs Overview

Fruits and Bombs is a jungle fruit slot from Mancala Gaming, released on 28 February 2024. Five reels and three rows of cherries, plums, lemons, watermelons, grapes and bananas sit inside a vine-covered wooden frame, and the whole thing pays on 243 ways – any matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left count, with no fixed lines. SlotCatalog lists a 95% RTP, low volatility and a maximum win of 826x the stake.

The name is literal: next to the fruit, the reels carry a small bomb with a lit fuse, printed on a golden WILD tile, and a wooden crate with a bomb on it marked BONUS. Those two symbols are what the game is really about.

The Symbols

The fruit set is the classic one, redrawn in a glossy cartoon style: red cherries, a purple plum, a yellow lemon, a slice of watermelon, a bunch of green grapes, an orange, a strawberry and a pair of bananas, plus a golden lucky 7. The bomb wild substitutes for the regular symbols, and the bonus crate is the scatter that opens the free spins.

Because the game pays on ways, a single wild in the middle of the screen can connect fruit across several rows at once – which is why the bigger wins in our session always came with one or more bombs on the reels.

How the Free Spins Start

Bonus crates landing on the reels trigger the round, and the game announces it with a full-screen message: “Congratulations! You won 5 Free Spins!”. Mystery Crates and Extra Spins

During the free spins, wooden crates with a golden question mark drop onto the reels. Wild Multipliers

The other half of the bonus is the multiplier. At Free spins: 2, a bomb wild landed with an X2 badge on it, surrounded by two more wilds on the top row, and the spin paid 1,230.00 – 12.3x the 100 stake. That is the biggest single spin our screenshots show, and it came from exactly the combination the game promises: several wilds on screen, one of them carrying a multiplier.

What Our Bonus Paid

We played the demo at a stake of 100. On the last free spin, four bomb wilds were on the reels – three in a row across the top of reels two to four, one more on reel five – and the spin paid 830.00. The winnings meter in the corner closed the round at 6,400.00, which is 64x the stake.

Earlier in the same bonus the meter had shown 3,300.00, so the second half of the round – the X2 wild and the four-wild finish – more than doubled it.

The Bonus Buy

The Buy Bonus button in the top-right corner opens a panel with three wooden question-mark crates and the text “Good luck! Win 5 Free Spins with additional respins and multipliers”. At a stake of 100 the total cost is 3,700.00 – 37x the stake – and the price moves with the stake selector on the same panel.

Against that price, the 64x round we played returned well over what it would have cost to buy. That is one round, not a guarantee, but it shows the scale: at low volatility and an 826x ceiling, a good bonus is worth a few dozen stakes, not thousands.
