Gods of Sand Overview

Gods of Sand is an Egyptian slot from Amigo Gaming, released in October 2025. Three gods of the desert – the crocodile-headed Sobek, the lioness Bastet and the jackal Anubis – watch over a 5x3 grid with 25 paylines. Amigo rates the game as high volatility with a maximum win of 3,500x the bet, and the headline mechanic is the Pile Collector, which awakens the gods’ powers and turns them into three different kinds of bonus games.

Three Gods, Three Powers

The gods are not just decoration. Their portraits sit in three framed panels above the reels, and each panel carries a label: EXPAND under Sobek, STICKY under Bastet and MULTI under Anubis. Amigo describes the mechanic in one line: “Activate the Pile Collector to awaken their powers and receive Expanding Games, Sticky Games and Free Games.”

The official feature list names Scatter, Wild, Expanding Wild, Free Games, Pile Collector and Sticky Symbols. The Paytable

The K, Q and J sit below the ace. Bastet is the top symbol by a wide margin – five of her pay two and a half times as much as five Anubis.

The Wild

The wild is a golden scarab with outstretched wings and the word WILD across it. It substitutes on the lines, and in our screenshots it often appears in pairs or at the start of a line, turning two matching symbols into a paying three. On one spin two scarabs landed side by side on the bottom row and joined up two separate lines at once. The official feature list also names an Expanding Wild, the version tied to the EXPAND power.

What Our Spins Showed

We played the demo at a €100 stake, and the win meter always shows how many lines paid, so the maths can be checked.

The first win showed three aces on three lines for €60: three aces pay €20, three times. A later spin paid €800 on four lines – four lines of three Bastets at €200 each, with a scarab wild helping two of the lines. Another spin paid €200 on two lines: two lines of three Anubis at €100.

The smaller wins came from the letters and the mid-value gods: €100 on three lines, €140 on five lines, €160 on six lines and €220 on four lines, the last one built from Sobek and falcon symbols with two scarab wilds side by side on the bottom row.

How the Wins Add Up

With 25 lines on a 5x3 grid, a single symbol can sit on several lines at once, and that is what makes the multi-line wins possible. Three Bastets on one line are only 2x the bet, but a few of them stacked on the first reels, with a wild to connect them, pay on four lines at once – that is how a 2x symbol becomes an 8x spin.

The same logic works for the low symbols. Three aces are worth only 0.2x on a single line, but three of them sitting where three lines cross paid 0.6x in our first spin. It also explains why the wins in our session were so frequent and so small: many spins produced something, and very few produced more than twice the stake. The bigger jumps in value come from the top two gods – one line of three Bastets pays as much as ten lines of three aces.

The Pile Collector

The Pile Collector is what sets the game apart from a standard 25-line slot. Instead of relying only on three scatters to start a bonus, the game collects towards the gods’ powers over many spins, so the base game has a second purpose besides paying lines. In our screenshots some reel positions are shown as faded golden tiles of gods and mummies behind the regular symbols, and the three god panels stay lit above the reels at all times, so you always see which powers are in play.

It is a slow-burn design. Most of our spins paid small line wins of one to two times the bet, and the balance moved down gradually over the session – typical for a high-volatility game where the real value is held back for the bonus modes.

The Maximum Win

The published ceiling is 3,500x the bet. The paytable shows how far above the line wins that is: five Bastets on a single line are 50x, and even five of her on several lines at once would stay well short. The top of the range therefore sits in the bonus modes, where expanding, sticky and multiplied symbols can turn many lines into winners at the same time.

Reading the Screen

The interface is simple. The balance sits bottom left, the bet bottom right, and the win meter in the middle shows both the amount and a LINES PLAYED counter – in fact the number of lines that paid on that spin. That counter is useful: a €160 win on six lines tells you straight away that it was six small wins rather than one bigger one. The large spin button sits on the right, with the settings and autoplay buttons above and below it, and a menu button on the left opens the paytable and rules.

Graphics and Setting

The reels stand inside an Egyptian temple, framed by carved sandstone pillars and white curtains, with palm leaves in the foreground and a blue sky beyond. The gods are painted in rich detail: Sobek in green and gold armour, Bastet with a lion’s mane and red jewellery, Anubis in purple and gold. The letters are gold on a dark blue background.

A Familiar Amigo Formula
