Golden Cloverfield Overview

Golden Cloverfield is a St. Patrick’s Day slot from Amigo Gaming, released in March 2024 (SlotCatalog gives 18 March). It plays on a grid of 6 reels and 5 rows with 50 paylines, and Amigo rates it high volatility with a maximum win of 3,500x the bet. Stakes run from 0.50 to 50. The features are random wilds in the base game, surprise gifts, and free games with sticky wilds and WILD x2 multipliers – plus a bonus buy.

Six Reels, Fifty Lines

The grid is larger than a standard slot: six reels and five rows, thirty positions in all, with fifty fixed lines running across it. The “Lines played” counter under the reels shows how many of those lines paid on each spin, and in our screenshots it ranged from 15 to 29 – a sign of how many lines a handful of wilds can activate on a grid this size.

Fruits and Four-Leaf Clovers

The setting is an Irish meadow: giant clover leaves at the edges, a rainbow behind the reels and piles of gold coins at the bottom. The reels themselves are filled with fruit-machine symbols – red sevens, gold bells, grapes, plums, lemons, watermelons, cherries and oranges – with a green four-leaf clover marked WILD.

Clover Field: Random Wilds

In the base game the wilds can arrive in bulk. The “CLOVER FIELD” banner flashes across the reels, clovers and gold coins fly over the grid, and a set of wilds drops onto the reels. In our screenshots this produced two strong results:

• 134,000 on 23 lines, with ten wilds forming a block across reels 2 to 5 – 26.8x the 5,000 stake.
• 16,200 on 29 lines, with a full reel of wilds on reel 2 turning grapes into line after line.

The ticker adds that some symbols “on the reels pay up to 2500X”, and that “3 or more present symbols” trigger the surprise gifts Amigo mentions in its description.

Scatters and Free Games

The ticker spells out the trigger: “3 or more scatter symbols trigger 8 free games”. Our round was bought rather than spun in (see below), and it opened with three gold-star scatters landing on reels 1, 2 and 4. They paid 5,000 – exactly one times the bet – before the bonus began. The screen then announced “You won 8 free games! Wild symbols are sticky now.”

Sticky Wilds and x2

Inside the free games, every wild that lands stays in place for the rest of the round, and some of them carry a x2 multiplier. The effect builds spin by spin:

• On free game 4 of 8, five sticky wilds and two x2 wilds paid on 26 lines, for 48,750 – with one line alone worth 36,000.
• On free game 5 of 8, the wild column on reel 2 had filled almost completely, another sticky wild sat on reel 5, and three x2 wilds were in play. The spin paid 86,400 on 15 lines, with a single line at 58,000.

Those two spins alone add up to 135,150, or 27x the stake, with three free games still to go.

The +3 FG Meter

In the top-left corner, above the logo, sits a small meter marked +3 FG with three slots. During our round one slot was lit green. It looks like a collection meter that adds three more free games once it fills, though our screenshots do not show it completing.

Buying the Bonus

The BUY BONUS button, a gold star in the bottom-left corner, opens a menu with the 8 free games on offer. At a 5,000 stake the price was 415,000 – 83x the bet. The menu also has locked tabs for other options, so only the free games can be bought directly.

The balances prove the purchase. The buy menu showed 928,000; every screenshot of the bonus – the scatters, the “You won 8 free games” panel and free games 4 and 5 – shows 513,000. That is exactly 928,000 minus 415,000, and it also shows that the round’s winnings are only added to the balance once the free games are over.

Is the Buy Worth It?

With two spins already worth 135,150 and three still to play, our bought round was on its way to recovering a good part of the 415,000 price – but not guaranteed to. The value of the bonus depends on how early the sticky wilds arrive: a wild on free game 1 pays on all eight spins, one on free game 7 pays on two. That is the logic of every sticky-wild bonus, and at 83x the buy is priced like a high-volatility feature.

The Base Game Between Features

Our base-game screenshots also show how the balance moved between features: 836,721 on the spin that paid 134,000, and 866,500 and 873,000 on two other spins. The random wilds are what carry the base game; without them, a 50-line game with fruit symbols mostly returns small line wins.

Graphics and Sound

The art is bright and cheerful: saturated greens, a rainbow arcing over the grid in the bonus, and gold everywhere – in the coins, the frames and the lettering. The winning lines are drawn as glowing gold threads across the reels, and big wins appear as large gold numbers over the grid.
