Golden Sea Overview

Golden Sea is a pirate-themed video slot from Eurasian Gaming, released on 6 June 2024. It runs on the studio’s Dynaways engine: six main reels change height on every spin, a horizontal reel runs across the top, and the number of ways to win changes with them – up to 86,436. SlotCatalog rates it medium volatility with a hit frequency of 33.43%, so roughly one spin in three pays something.

Eurasian Gaming has not published an RTP or a maximum win for this game, and we could not find either figure from an official source, so we leave both open rather than guess.

A Crew of Anime Pirates

The reels float in a wooden ship’s frame against a stormy sea full of galleons. The cast is drawn in a bright anime style: a pink-haired gunslinger, a swordsman with a glowing green blade, a hulking pirate with a pole, a captain in a feathered hat and a young ship’s cook carrying a tray of gold. A pink fish with bared teeth, a black-sailed ship, a treasure map and a skull-and-cutlass emblem complete the set. The scatter is a treasure chest with a SCATTER label.

How Dynaways Works Here

The number of symbols on each reel changes from spin to spin, and the ways counter above the reels shows the result of every spin. In our session it read 864, 2,400, 4,608 and 8,000 ways on different spins. The rules page confirms that all symbols pay left to right on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel, and the game bets on the maximum 86,436 ways every time.

Wins trigger a tumble: the winning symbols are removed and new ones drop into place, which can create a fresh win from the same spin. SlotCatalog also lists a double-up gamble among the features, although we did not use it.

The Paytable

The paytable shows the prizes for the selected bet; ours was a total bet of 100 USD. The pink-haired gunslinger is the top symbol and the only one that pays for just two in a row:

– gunslinger: 100 for two, 200 for three, 1,000 for four, 2,500 for five and 5,000 for six
– swordsman: 100 / 200 / 250 / 500 for three to six
– big pirate: 30 / 50 / 100 / 250

Six gunslingers on one way return 50 times the stake, and with thousands of ways in play a single tumble can pay the same symbol many times over.

Choose Your Free Spins

When the free spins trigger, a selection screen asks you to pick your spins and your starting win multiplier. All three options come with an increasing win multiplier:

– 15 free spins starting at x1
– 10 free spins starting at x5
– 5 free spins starting at x10

It is the classic trade-off between a long round and a strong start. We chose the middle option and the game announced 10 free spins.

Which option is best depends on how the tumbles fall. Fifteen spins at x1 give the multiplier the most time to build, but it starts from nothing. Five spins at x10 make every early win count ten times over, yet leave little room for the round to develop. The ten-spin, x5 option sits in between, and because the multiplier keeps increasing during the round, even a modest start can end high.

Our Free Spins Round

The multiplier sits in the top left corner during the feature and grows as the tumbles roll in. In our round it had climbed to x13 when a single tumble paid 1,950 USD, and it then moved to x14. By that point the feature total stood at 5,640 USD – more than 56 times our 100 USD stake – which shows how quickly a high multiplier turns ordinary symbols into big wins.

Power Play: Buy Bonus and Fast Play

A Buy Bonus button sits to the right of the reels. It opens the Power Play menu, where two features can be switched on. The Buy-Bonus feature cost 8,200 USD at our 100 USD bet, so 82 times the stake; the next spin then goes straight into the bonus. The Fast-Play feature plays a chosen number of rounds automatically (the default was 100) and shows the total result, stopping as soon as a bonus is triggered so that you can play it yourself.

Who Will Enjoy It

Golden Sea suits players who like changing reel heights and tumbles, and who want a say in how the free spins play out. The medium volatility and the one-in-three hit rate keep the base game lively. The missing RTP figure is the main drawback: if a published return matters to you, keep that in mind before choosing this game.

Golden Sea is a colourful, fast-moving Dynaways slot with a likeable pirate crew and a well-designed free spins choice. The growing multiplier is where the big results come from, and the Power Play menu adds a bonus buy for impatient players.
