Hell Chef Overview

Hell Chef is a demonic cooking slot from Kalamba Games, released on 19 October 2023. Lucifer himself runs the kitchen: he watches from a portrait in the top right corner, labelled EVIL, while cuts of meat, sausages, fish and flaming playing-card symbols fill a 6x5 grid. Kalamba’s own game data gives a maximum win of 20,000x the bet, volatility of 7 out of 10, a hit frequency of 36.84% and up to 15,625 ways to win. SlotCatalog lists a 96.42% RTP (the game comes in several RTP versions) and stakes from 0.20 to 50.

4,096 Ways That Can Grow

In the base game the counter in the top left corner reads WAYS: 4096 – six reels with four symbols each. The maximum of 15,625 ways comes from an extra fifth row, which is exactly what the top level of the Golden Bet promises (see below). Wins are paid on adjacent reels from the left, with no fixed paylines.

The Menu

The higher-paying symbols are the ingredients in Lucifer’s kitchen: a steak, a string of sausages, a ham hock and a green-and-red fish. The low-paying symbols are the royals and numbers from 10 to A, drawn as glowing, charred letters. On top of that come the special symbols:

Golden Bet: Off, Nitro and Hellfire

The dial on the right of the reels is the Golden Bet, and it has three settings, each with its own cost:

• Off (“cooking level: raw enthusiast”) – the normal game, shown at a bet of 10.00.
• Nitro – the bet rises from 10.00 to 40.00, and “each spin is twice more likely to trigger free spins bonus”.
• Hellfire – “each spin guarantees extra row added for bigger win potential”, with the same free spins frequency as Nitro. At higher stakes the option is locked with the message “lower your bet to enable more options”.

So Nitro is simple: four times the stake for twice the free spins chance. Hellfire trades the same premium for the fifth row and the jump from 4,096 to 15,625 ways.

The Buy Bonus Menu

The Buy Bonus button opens three levels of free spins:

• Level 1 – 5 free spins.
• Level 2 – 8 free spins, with K-Cash symbols collected on at least 4 columns.
• Level 3 – 11 free spins, with K-Cash symbols collected on at least 5 columns.

With the game set to a total bet of 40.00, the prices were 205.00, 375.00 and 665.00. The higher levels buy more spins and, more importantly, a guaranteed spread of collectors across the grid.

Free Spins: Cooking the Creatures

We bought Level 3, and the game opened with “11 Free Spins Awarded” and the instruction: “Collect uncooked creatures and transform them into… more Nitro!” During the round the collector columns at the top of the reels light up, the K-Cash pigs land with their values, and extra spins can be added along the way – our round showed a +1 Extra Spin banner that took the counter from 11 to 12.
