Lightning Storm Overview

A Fruit Machine Under a Storm

The reels sit in a bronze frame with a purple night sky behind them, cut through by forks of blue lightning. The symbols are straight from the old fruit machines: green lucky sevens, three kinds of BAR, and four fruits – watermelon, plum, lemon and cherries. The only modern touch is the WILD, a gold-lettered block with a green lightning bolt through it.

The Paytable

At the $200 bet the paytable is printed in cash. The seven is the top symbol and the only one that pays for two of a kind: five sevens return $12,500 (62.5x the total bet), four pay $1,500, three pay $200 and two pay $20.

The triple BAR pays $2,000 / $500 / $100 for five, four and three, and the double and single BARs both pay $1,000 / $400 / $100. The four fruits share one line: $500 for five, $200 for four and $100 for three.

Stacked Wilds on the Middle Reels

In every capture the WILD appeared on reels 3 and 4, and it arrived two rows tall. Because it covers half a reel at once, a single wild block can complete several paylines on the same spin, which is where the bigger results in our session came from.

What Our Spins Showed

The best spin we captured paid $980 – 4.9x the bet. Sevens landed on the first two reels, a stacked wild sat on reels 3 and 4, and the wins spread across many of the 40 lines; line 16 alone paid $20 for its sevens.

Another spin paid $700 (3.5x): lemons on the first two reels met a stacked wild on reel 3, and line 33 paid $100. A mixed BAR combination returned $200, exactly the bet, with line 20 paying $100.

Over the session the balance moved from about $71,197 to $65,697 – the normal drift of a 40-line game where most wins cover part of the stake and the sevens carry the big results.

Forty Lines on a 5x4 Grid

The lines screen shows all 40 patterns on the four-row grid, from straight rows to zig-zags. With so many lines, three matching fruits somewhere on the screen are common, but at $100 for three they only return half of the $200 stake – the paytable is built so that real profit needs sevens, BARs or wild stacks.

Reading the Numbers

Put side by side, the paytable shows how the game is balanced. Five fruits on a line pay 2.5x the total bet, five single or double BARs pay 5x, five triple BARs pay 10x and five sevens pay 62.5x. The gap between the fruits and the sevens is large, so the sevens decide whether a session ends up or down.

Because the table is printed in cash for the current bet, the multipliers stay the same at any stake: at the minimum of $0.40 five sevens would pay $25, at $200 they pay $12,500. A single payline costs one fortieth of the total bet, so at the maximum stake each line is worth $5.
