Magical Leprechaun Overview

Magical Leprechaun is a five-reel, three-row slot from Spinomenal with 10 paylines, a 91.01% RTP and a published ceiling of 2,000x. It was released on 9 February 2024.

That return figure is not a typo, and it is the single most important thing on this page. 91.01% is the lowest RTP of any game we have covered in these batches – five points below the 96% that has become the industry’s informal floor.

A Sunlit Forest

The reels stand in a green forest clearing with sunbeams coming down through the canopy, clover scattered across the floor and the reel strips drawn as translucent green glass.

The symbols are a green top hat, a horseshoe, a four-leaf clover, a smoking pipe and a cluster of pots of gold, above card ranks from 10 to A.

The Paytable Is Quoted in Coins

Spinomenal prints its table in coins per line, so the figures need the per-line bet applied. At 10 per line, the top hat pays 2,000 coins for five – 20,000 on one line, which is 200x the total bet.

Below it the horseshoe pays 1,000 for five, the clover and the pipe 500 each, and the pots 200. The card ranks close the table at 100.

The hat also pays from two of a kind, at 5 coins – the only symbol on the table to do so, and a reminder that the premium is the one to watch.

The paylines screen draws all ten as grid diagrams – three straight rows first, then zigzags and stepped shapes – and a “PERLINE” control with plus and minus keys sits in the footer, so the line bet is what you adjust rather than a single total.

One line under the paylines screen states the rule: Only the highest win on each winning line is paid.

What the Reels Paid

The best base capture earns its own banner: EPIC WIN, with 10,000 printed on a rainbow beneath it. Against a total bet of 100 that is 100x.

And look at what produced it: a grid almost entirely filled with the letter A – the cheapest symbol on the game, at 100 coins a line. Ten lines of the worst symbol is what an “epic win” means here.

A quieter capture pays 1,050 (10.5x) from a grid of tens and jacks with three FREE SPINS symbols on it, and another 1,000 (10x).

Note the shape that implies. With the premium hat at 2,000 coins and the card ranks at 100, the top symbol is worth twenty times the bottom one – a wide spread that makes a full grid of aces an unusual way to reach a hundred times the bet.

The Pots Carry Cash

The pots of gold are not only a paying symbol – they land with cash values printed on them. Our captures show pots marked 500, 1,000, 2,000, 3,500 and 5,000.

A single spin with pots reading 5,000 and 500 paid 7,500 – 75x the total bet – and the best in the round, with four pots on the grid, reached 13,350, or 133.5x.

Those are the two largest figures anywhere in these captures, and neither came from a payline. The pots are the game.

The FREE SPINS symbol is a wooden wheel lettered across two lines, and it lands in threes and fours in our base captures – on the third, fourth and fifth reels in one, and on the second, third and fourth in another.

So the round is a ten-spin base with three separate retrigger slots above it, and our session took at least one of them.

What a 91% Return Actually Means

It is worth doing the arithmetic plainly rather than leaving it as a number. At 96%, a hundred spins of 100 return about 9,600 on average. At 91.01%, the same hundred spins return about 9,101.

That is roughly 500 more given up per hundred spins, or five whole stakes. Over a long session the difference is not subtle, and no feature on this game compensates for it – the pots and the retriggers are already inside that 91.01%.

Most games in these batches publish 95% or 96%. The lowest we had found before this one was 93.43%. This is two and a half points below that.

The Ceiling

The published maximum is 2,000x. One line of top hats is 200x, so the cap needs several of them at once, or the pots landing with values far above the 5,000 we saw.

Our best capture is 133.5x – a fifteenth of the ceiling – and it took a grid full of cash pots to get there.

Magical Leprechaun is a good-looking, well-signposted game. The forest artwork is bright, the free-spins rules are written out in a full sentence, the cash pots print their values on the tile, and the retrigger plates are visible above the reels throughout.
