Pumpkin Horror Overview

Pumpkin Horror is a Halloween slot developed by TipTop and distributed by Foxi (Fazi). It runs on a classic 5x3 grid with 10 fixed paylines, a published RTP of 96% and a maximum win of 10,000x the stake. It was released on 10 October 2024. No volatility rating has been published.

The design is deliberately old-school: no free spins, no buy feature and no bonus round. Everything comes from a wild pumpkin, a scatter knife and a paytable in which the top prize is far above everything else.

All figures below were read from the demo at a €100.00 bet.

A Haunted Hill in the Moonlight

The reels sit in front of a moonlit graveyard, with a crooked haunted house on the left, bats in the sky and a pile of carved jack-o'-lanterns in the bottom right corner. The Pumpkin Horror logo runs across the top in dripping red letters.

Numbered line markers run down both sides of the reels, so every winning line is easy to trace. Winning symbols are outlined in red, and a red line connects them across the grid.

The symbols are Halloween icons: a haunted house on a hill, a friendly ghost, a gravestone with a cross, a purple witch's hat perched on a pumpkin, a pair of orange pumpkins and a melting candle. The wild is a grinning jack-o'-lantern and the scatter is a hand of knives.

The game follows TipTop's familiar layout: a 5x3 grid, lines numbered on both sides and a balance, bet and win display in a single bar under the reels, with the spin and autoplay controls in the bottom right corner.

The Paytable

At the €100.00 bet, the paytable shows the following values for five, four and three of a kind:

The haunted house pays €2,500 / €1,000 / €500, which makes five of them worth 25x the stake. The ghost pays €1,000 / €400 / €200, and the gravestone €500 / €200 / €100.

The lower symbols follow: the witch's hat €500 / €200 / €100, the pumpkins €250 / €100 / €50, and the candle €100 / €50 / €20. Five candles therefore only return the stake.

The Scatter Is the Jackpot

The knife scatter is in a different league. At the same €100.00 bet it pays €1,000 for two, €2,000 for three, €10,000 for four and €1,000,000 for five.

Five scatters at €1,000,000 on a €100.00 stake is exactly 10,000x, the published maximum win. The top prize of the game and its ceiling are the same thing: the whole top end of the game rests on landing five knives.

The step from four to five scatters is a hundredfold jump, from 100x to 10,000x. Below that, even four scatters are worth only 100x, and the best line prize is 25x.

The scatter also pays for just two symbols, which gives the knife a small but regular return in the base game.

The knife is also a tall symbol. In our captures it filled two positions of a reel at once, blade pointing down over a small haunted house, which makes it easier to see on the grid than an ordinary single-cell scatter.

One of our spins landed knives on the first and fourth reels plus a partial knife on the third, and the win box showed €1,000.00 – ten times the stake from the scatter alone, with no line win involved.

The Pumpkin Wild

The jack-o'-lantern is the Wild. According to the paytable, it substitutes for all symbols except the scatter, so it can complete line wins but cannot help towards the knife jackpot.

The paytable does not list a separate prize for a line of wilds, so the pumpkin's job is purely to complete the other symbols' lines.

The screenshots show how powerful the wild can be when it lands in numbers. On our best spin the grid filled with jack-o'-lanterns marked WILD, joined by a giant pumpkin covering part of the first reel, and several lines lit up at once around a pair of ghosts.

That spin paid €6,775.68, or roughly 68x the stake. The exact cents do not follow from the paytable alone, so part of the amount may come from an element the rules page does not describe – we report the figure as the game displayed it.

Paylines

The ten fixed lines include the three horizontal rows, two V shapes and several zig-zag patterns, all shown on the paylines page. Wins pay from left to right, and the line markers on both sides of the grid are numbered in the order the game uses.

The two-symbol scatter prize is worth noting for the maths as well: at €1,000 for two knives on a €100.00 bet, a pair of scatters pays 10x, which is more than four haunted houses on a line. In this game the knife is the symbol to watch on every spin, not only when a fifth one is possible.

Wins in Practice

A typical win in our session was three witch's hats on a line, which paid €100.00 at the €100.00 bet, the result shown in the win box below the reels. It illustrates how the line prizes work: most wins return between a fraction of the stake and a few times it.

The balance in the demo stood at €4,620.00 in that capture, and the bet selector allowed stakes from low values up to much higher levels.

The balance moved sharply between our captures, from €4,620.00 to €2,520.00 and later €1,070.00, which is what a game with modest line prizes and a very distant top prize tends to do at a high stake.

It also shows why the wild matters so much in practice. Without a large wild spin or a scatter, the line wins on their own rarely cover the stake for long.

Who Should Play It

Pumpkin Horror suits players who like classic five-reel slots with no features to learn and a single dramatic prize to chase. The 96% RTP is standard, and the 10 fixed lines keep the game easy to follow.

The downside is just as clear: nearly all of the top end depends on five scatters, and everything else pays modestly. Long sessions without the knife will feel flat.
