Samurai Cats Overview

Samurai Cats is a 5x3 video slot from Amigo Gaming with 30 paylines, released in March 2025. Three feline warriors in armour guard the reels from the roof of a Japanese temple, with Mount Fuji, pagodas and waterfalls in the background. Amigo lists the volatility as medium and the maximum win as x1,000 the bet. Stakes run from 0.30 to 90 per spin.

Three Cats, Three Bonus Modes

The start screen introduces the whole game in one picture: three samurai cats, each holding a different feature. The purple cat stands for Wild Games, the orange one in the middle for Coin Games, and the blue one on the right for Mult Games. Q and J sit below the letters in the table. The wild is a red talisman with a crossed pair of katanas and the word WILD, and it substitutes on the lines.

What Our Base-Game Spins Showed

The screenshots show how the 30 lines stack up. One spin put three As on three rows of the grid, and the game counted 14 winning lines for a total of €210 – exactly 14 x €15, the price of three As. It is a good illustration of how a cluster of cheap symbols can pay many times over on a 30-line layout.

Other spins used the wild. With two wild talismans on the middle row, four lines paid €210, and a spin with three wilds and a row of shrine lanterns paid €480 on five lines.

The bar under the reels helps you follow this: it shows Lines Played for the winning spin next to the total, so you can see at a glance whether a win came from one strong line or many small ones. Wins are drawn on the grid as coloured lines, and the winning symbols light up in a pink frame. The base-game wins in our screenshots ranged from about 2.3x to 5.3x the stake; the bigger results came from the free-game mode.

Mult Games: Wilds With Multipliers

When the blue cat’s feature starts, the screen darkens to a night-time street of lanterns and announces 10 MULTI GAMES. In this mode the wild carries a multiplier. Our round showed it clearly:

• With 7 games left, a wild marked x2 helped a line of shrines and Ks to €480.
• With 6 games left, an x3 wild pushed a spin to €855, and the round total to €1,560.
• With 1 game left, another x2 wild added €210, taking the round to €1,965 – about 21.8x the bet.

The balance stayed at €3,385 throughout the feature, which confirms that the total is paid at the end of the round.

Wild Games and Coin Games

Our screenshots only show the Mult Games in action, so we will not guess at the details of the other two modes. What the game does tell you is their names – Wild Games for the purple cat and Coin Games for the orange one – and Amigo’s official feature list for the title: Scatter, Expanding Wild, Wild, Free Games, Instant Pays and Pile Collector. The practical point is that the three modes are three different routes into free games, and which one you get depends on the cat whose counter comes through.

Reading the Counters

The numbers under the cats are worth watching. In our session the Mult counter stood at 7, then at 9, and when the blue cat’s feature started it opened with 10 Mult Games. That pattern suggests the counter shows how many free games the mode is worth when it lands, and that it keeps climbing while you play. The other two counters moved the same way: Wild from 6 to 9 and Coin from 5 to 7 over the same spins.

This gives the base game a slow-burning tension that a plain scatter trigger does not have. A feature that starts after a long wait usually starts bigger.

Where the 1,000x Comes From

The paytable alone cannot reach the ceiling. The best symbol, the shrine lantern, pays 25x for five on a line, and even several lines of it at once would fall well short of 1,000x. The multipliers in Mult Games are what close the gap: an x3 wild on a five-lantern line turns 25x into 75x on a single line, and several such lines on one spin add up quickly. At the €90 maximum stake, the 1,000x cap is worth €90,000; at the 0.30 minimum it is €300.

A Familiar Amigo Structure

Three collectors that each lead to a different free-games flavour is a design Amigo uses in several games. Crime Town and Gods of Sand run on a similar idea with Expand, Sticky and Multi chips. Samurai Cats is the medium-volatility version, with a lower 1,000x ceiling.

Graphics and Setting

The art is bright and cartoonish: round-faced cats in purple, orange and turquoise armour, a red temple frame with gold trim, and cherry-blossom Japan behind the reels. The symbols are rendered as glossy diamond-shaped tiles, and the letters glow in neon pink and gold. The free games move to a blue night scene with lanterns and wooden houses.
