Sparta 2

Sparta 2 Overview

Sparta 2 is an ancient-warfare slot from Funky Games, released on 2 February 2024. It plays on a 5x4 grid with 1,024 ways to win, and it is the sequel to the studio’s 2022 Sparta, which used the same 5x4, 1,024-way layout. Funky Games does not publish an RTP, a volatility rating or a maximum win for the sequel, and SlotCatalog lists all three as not available, so we do not quote any figures. Stakes run from 0.40 to 16 per spin.

We could not find a public, embeddable demo for Sparta 2: the free demo on Funky’s own servers belongs to the first Sparta, so this page has no demo of its own.

A Battlefield Behind the Reels

The grid stands between two marble columns with “1024 Ways” carved into them, under a stone architrave. Behind it you can make out sailing ships and a hazy battlefield. The premium symbols are Spartan equipment and people: a bronze helmet with a blue crest, a round shield, a golden chalice, the portrait of a Spartan queen and the scowling faces of warriors. The low symbols are 9, 10, J, Q, K and A carved in stone.

Wild Ships and Scatter Temples

Two special symbols do most of the work. The wild is a war galley with red sails, and in our screenshots it lands stacked, sometimes filling a whole reel from top to bottom. The scatter is a golden Greek temple marked SCATTER, and it pays and triggers the bonus wherever it lands.

What Our Spins Showed

All our screenshots were taken at a total bet of 16.00 (bet level 0.40):

• A full reel of wild ships on reel 3 joined Qs, 9s and other symbols across the grid for 128.00 – 8x the bet.
• Wild ships stacked on reels 2, 3 and 4, next to Aces on reel 1 and a stack of warrior faces on reel 5, produced 156.80 – 9.8x.
• Two wild ships on the middle reels completed a line of Ks for 52.00 – 3.25x.

The electric lines that run across the grid show every winning way at once, which makes it easy to see how a single stacked wild can link symbols on several rows.

The Free Games

Five temple scatters landed across the grid in one of our spins, and the game answered with a parchment scroll: “You won 6 Free Game”. During the round a Spartan warrior with a shield stands to the right of the reels next to a multiplier display, which showed x1 in our screenshot. The counter under the reels read “Free Games 3 of 7”, so the round had grown by one extra game over the six it started with. In that spin, two wild ships and a group of helmets paid 64.00 (4x), and the free games total had reached 88.00.

SlotCatalog lists additional free spins and a free spins multiplier among the features, which matches both the growing counter and the multiplier panel.

Buying the Free Games

A Buy Free Game button sits on the right of the screen with the price already printed on it. Clicking it opens a confirmation box: “Buy 6 Free Games – 800” at the 16.00 stake, which is 50x the bet.

Stakes and Controls

The screenshots were taken at a total bet of 16.00 with the bet level set to 0.40. According to SlotCatalog, 16 is also the highest stake the game accepts, with 0.40 as the lowest, so our session was played at the top of the range. The buy price moves with the bet: 800 at 16.00 would be just 20 at the minimum stake, still 50x. The control bar is simple: a total bet selector with plus and minus buttons, a bet level display, a Turbo toggle, a WON box for the current round and a large SPIN button that starts autoplay when held.

Sparta 2 vs the First Sparta

Both games share the 5x4 grid, the 1,024 ways, the buy button and the free spins multiplier. The first Sparta from 2022 also has cascading wins and a published maximum of 500x on SlotCatalog. The sequel keeps the formula and the setting but has no published maximum, so the two cannot be compared on paper.

Who It Is For

Sparta 2 is for players who like busy ways slots with big stacked wilds. The wild galleys can fill whole reels, five scatters open the free games, and the 50x buy is there for players who do not want to wait. Without a published RTP or maximum win, it is a game to judge by feel rather than by the numbers.
