Story of The Little Mermaid is an underwater slot from Spinomenal, released on 20 July 2023. Unlike many modern slots, the line count here is not fixed. The LINES control in the bottom left changes how many paylines are active, and the total bet follows it. Our first screenshot shows the game at 80 lines with a total bet of 8 – 0.10 per line – while most of our session ran on 60 lines at a total bet of 60, or 1 per line. The Symbols

The reels sit in a coral-and-kelp frame on the sea floor. The premium symbols are sea creatures and treasures: a striped butterflyfish, a treasure chest overflowing with gold, a pearl in an open shell and a starfish. The lower pays are the card royals A, K, Q and J, drawn in carved green and red metal. A separate FREE SPINS symbol acts as the scatter.

The Mermaid Wild

The red-haired mermaid is the wild, and she is drawn as a full-height figure that fills an entire reel. On our opening screenshot she covers the whole of reel 3, and in several later spins she stacks on reels 2 and 3 at the same time. SlotCatalog also lists sticky wilds and walking wilds among the game’s features – wilds that stay on the reels and move between spins, which is where the series gets most of its excitement.

What Our Spins Showed

At a 60 bet the base game produced three notable results:

• 380 (6.3x) – stacked butterflyfish on the left reels, completed by two mermaid wilds on reels 2 and 3.
• A Big Win of 540 (9x), announced with the treasure-chest animation.
• A Mega Win of 870 (14.5x), with two wilds on the right side of the grid and a FREE SPINS symbol already visible on reel 4.

All three came from line wins in the base game, without any bonus feature – a sign of how much the stacked wilds carry on their own.

The bonus opens with a framed panel: “Congratulations! You have won 25 free spins”. SlotCatalog lists additional free spins as well, so the round can be extended. During the free spins the mermaid kept appearing as a full-reel wild. Buying the Feature

The BUY button opens a menu where you choose three things: the number of free spins, the bet and the number of lines. With 25 free spins, a 60 bet and 60 lines the buy price was 3,000 – 50x the bet. Reading the Screen

The control bar is simple. On the left are the LINES selector with its minus and plus buttons, in the centre the spin button with BUY on one side and autoplay on the other, and on the right the TOTAL BET selector. The balance sits in a strip below. During the bonus the lines panel is replaced by a TOTAL WIN counter, and a purple banner above the reels shows how many free spins are left – “8 FREE SPINS” on our screenshot. Spinomenal uses a deep teal palette with light rays coming down through the water and bubbles rising past the reels. The logo sits in a purple scroll above the grid, and the big win screens swap the reels for a treasure chest framed by golden tridents, with coins pouring across the screen.
