The Last Quack Overview

The Last Quack is a shooting game from Mancala Gaming, released on 5 April 2023. Instead of reels it borrows the look of old duck-hunt arcade games: pixel-art ducks fly across a lake, and each one you hit pays a prize. SlotCatalog lists the RTP at 95% and the variance as low.

How a Round Plays

Every round launches a flock of ten ducks. Press the big spin button to start a round; every duck that is hit bursts into a red cloud with its prize written on top. Holding the button starts autoplay, and a Turbo switch speeds rounds up. In our session, at a total bet of DEM 25.00, one round hit three ducks for 0.46, 0.95 and 0.38, and another landed a single 1.40.

Ten Ducks, Ten Values

The paytable gives every colour of duck its own fixed value. The white duck is the best at 10.00, followed by grey 9.00, dark green 8.00, blue 7.00, purple 6.00, light green 5.00, the mallard 4.00, brown 3.00, tan 2.00 and the yellow duck at 1.00 (the rules show these in the demo’s DEM currency).

The Target Meter: x2, x8 and x100

A meter across the top counts how many ducks you hit in one round. The rules spell out the rewards: more than 6 targets doubles the round’s total win, more than 8 multiplies it by x8, and hitting all 10 targets multiplies it by x100. The x2 and x8 markers and the x100 finish are drawn right on the meter.

The Bonus Game

A miss is not always bad news. If a round ends with no targets hit at all, the Bonus Game starts, giving you 10 free rounds. Two buttons in the top right corner, a red duck and a shopping cart, lead to the extra bet and bonus-buy options that SlotCatalog lists for the game.

Look and Feel

The whole game is pixel art: blocky clouds, green hills and a blue lake with light glinting on the water. The logo is set in chunky yellow pixel letters, and the bet, balance and win boxes along the bottom look like an old console menu. It is a deliberate throwback, closer to a video game than a slot machine.

Our two gameplay screenshots were taken eight minutes apart at the same DEM 25.00 bet, and the balance between them moved from DEM 19,974.00 to DEM 19,987.00 – the kind of slow, steady movement you expect from a low-variance game.

Who It Is For

The Last Quack suits players who want something different from reels. Low variance means frequent small hits, while the x100 for a clean sweep of all ten ducks is the moment to wait for.
