War Turtle Overview

War Turtle is an underwater fish-shooting game from KA Gaming, released on 22 August 2024. You aim a cannon from the bottom of the screen, fire at the sea creatures that swim past and win a multiple of your shot for every catch. Shots run from $0.01 to $10. KA Gaming does not publish an RTP, a volatility rating or a maximum win for this title, and SlotCatalog lists all three as not available, so our data box leaves them open.

The numbers below come from our own demo session, played at shots of $1 and $10.

A Coral Reef Arena

The game takes place over a dark green coral reef. Golden turtles, pink dragon fish, seahorses, jellyfish and a huge red lobster drift across the screen, and the table has four cannon positions – the empty ones show “WAITING FOR PLAYER”.

Your cannon sits at the bottom left with the shot value and your balance. Next to it are three special buttons, one of them a power weapon priced at six times the shot: $6 at a $1 shot and $60 at $10.

The shot value is changed with the plus and minus buttons next to the cannon, and every shot is deducted from the balance the moment it is fired.

Boss Rounds

From time to time a BOSS COMING banner flashes across the screen before a large target appears. In the same capture, at a $1 shot, two catches paid $60.00 and $30.00 – 60x and 30x the shot.

At a $10 shot we brought down a giant pirate skull, which paid $300.00 (30x), and a prize wheel on the left side of the screen showed another $300.00.

The Coin Shower

The most spectacular capture shows a screen full of gold coins and glowing rings after a big catch. The rings carried values of $30, $40 and $60 at the $10 shot, with smaller amounts such as $7.78, $15.56 and $24.94 in between – payouts for many small catches at once.

What the Balance Did

The balance started at $100,001, dipped to $99,903, rose to $102,702 after the skull and the wheel, and stood at $90,452 at the end of the recorded shots. Shooting games swing quickly, because every shot costs money whether it lands or not.

Features

SlotCatalog describes a chain bomb that clears swarms of fish and a freeze that stops all fish for a short time. We did not see either in our captures.

KA Gaming has several other shooters with the same controls, among them Golden Strike and Danger Zone.

Who Should Play It

War Turtle suits players who prefer aiming and timing to spinning reels. Boss rounds and coin showers bring the big moments, and the $0.01 minimum makes it easy to practise.
