Candy Heroes Overview

Candy Heroes is a fishing-style shooting game from NetGame, listed by the studio as Candy Heroes Fishing. Instead of reels and paylines you aim a cannon at a crowd of sweet-themed sea creatures, and every creature you bring down pays its printed multiplier of your shot value. The published return is 96.04%, the studio rates the volatility as low, and the maximum win is 1,000x. The game was released on 4 October 2024.

All figures below come from our own demo session, where the cannon was set to shots of 50 and 100 coins.

An Underwater Bakery

The setting is a sea floor built out of dessert. Gingerbread houses, cream cakes and chocolate biscuits sit on the sand, a giant pink-and-white candy cane snakes across the screen, and the fish themselves look like boiled sweets and jelly candies. Four player stations sit in the corners, which reflects the multiplayer layout the genre borrowed from arcade fishing tables.

Your own station is at the bottom right, marked PLAYER 1, with the coin counter and the balance next to it. The shot value sits between a minus and a plus button, and two large buttons on the left of it carry the game's two special weapons.

How a Shot Pays

Each shot costs the value shown on the cannon. A creature takes several hits before it goes down, and the payout is its multiplier times the value of the shot that finished it. The fish information page lists the common catches at x40, x50, x70, x130 and x250 – the striped pink-and-blue fish at the top of that table is the most valuable ordinary target.

The same page carries a note that is worth reading before you play: if the game halts, the system returns the current bullets, bonus and prizes to the player. It is a small detail, but it answers the most common worry about a real-time game that depends on a live connection.

The table is also graded more steeply than it looks. The x250 fish is worth more than six of the x40 puffers, so the choice of target matters as much as the number of shots. Chasing the big striped fish costs more ammunition on average, but a single catch covers a long run of misses.

The information screen is split into four tabs – Fishes, Features, Bosses and Info – and the multiplier table we quote comes from the first page of the Fishes tab. It is worth flicking through all four before you start, since the bosses have their own page.

Laser and Boost

The LASER button fires a continuous beam that cuts through everything in its path, and our screenshots show several beams crossing the screen at once when other stations fire together. The BOOST button speeds up your fire rate. Both are tools for clearing a crowded area quickly rather than separate prize features.

Floating multiplier rings also drift across the screen – we saw x2, x3 and x10 markers orbiting a target – and a catch inside one of them pays its value multiplied again.

The Bosses

Four bosses share the table with the ordinary fish. The one we met most often was a huge marshmallow brute with chocolate-biscuit armour, which we saw taking a stream of laser fire from two stations at once. A giant gingerbread man also appears, with a spinning ring of multipliers around it.

Bosses are where the larger prizes come from, and a single catch landed a 200-coin payout on our 100-coin shot in one of our captures.

The shot value can be raised or lowered at any moment with the buttons either side of it. We moved between 50 and 100 during the session, and the payout from any catch scales in step with that value, so the multipliers stay the useful way to read the table.

What the Session Did

Our balance moved from 1,234.00 to 1,214.50 and then 1,146.00 over the captures, while the coin counter fell from 123,400 to 114,600. That is the normal rhythm of a shooting game: every shot costs, and the catches return part of it in irregular bursts rather than spin by spin.

With a low volatility rating, the aim is to keep the drain gentle and the returns frequent, which matches what the counter did during our play.

NetGame publishes a low volatility rating for the game, while SlotCatalog lists it as medium. We follow the studio’s own figure in our data box, but the two are close enough that the practical advice is the same: expect a gradual rhythm rather than sudden swings.

Who Should Play It

Candy Heroes suits players who want something active rather than passive – you choose where to aim and when to spend a laser, and that choice changes the result. The 96.04% return and the low volatility make it a steady game, and the 1,000x ceiling keeps the top prizes modest.

It is not a slot, so do not expect free spins or paylines. Treat it as an arcade table with a published return, and set the shot value to suit how long you want the session to last.
