Red Rake states the rule twice, in two separate places, which suggests the studio expects people to miss it:

“A scatter win will be awarded if 6 or more symbols of the same type appear in any position on the reels.”

“WINS IN ANY POSITION – Symbols can contribute to wins from any position on the reels.”

So the threshold is six, and position is irrelevant. On a thirty-position board, six of one symbol is a fifth of the grid – a much easier condition than five in a row on adjacent reels, and the direct reason this game carries a low volatility rating.

The paytable is a ladder per symbol, running from six upward, with a final rung at ten or more. At the €10.00 bet our session ran at, Santa’s top rung pays €40.00 – four times the stake. The characters below him step down to €30, €20 and €15, and the objects sit at €10 and below.

Those are small numbers by any standard, and they have to be: a rule this generous cannot be paired with a generous paytable.

Wrapped presents land on the grid carrying multipliers, and the range is wide. Across our screenshots we caught x2, x4, x5, x6, x7 and x10 – often several on the same board.

One spin carried two x6 boxes and a third x6 lower down with Santa filling most of the middle. Another had an x7 and an x10 together with a run of red-hat elves. Since the symbols themselves pay in single-digit multiples, these boxes are not a bonus on top of the win – they are the win.
