Clash of the Giants Overview

Clash of the Giants is a cascading ways slot from Spadegaming, released on 20 October 2023. A cartoon Godzilla-style lizard and a King Kong-style gorilla face each other across a city skyline, and between them sits a reel set of six reels with up to seven rows that pays in ways – up to 200,704 of them. A Grid That Changes Every Spin

The number of ways is not fixed. Each reel lands a different number of symbols, and some of them are stacked blocks that fill two or three positions at once, so the total is recalculated on every spin. Cascades and Golden Frames

Winning symbols are removed and the gaps are refilled from above, so a single spin can pay several times. The key twist is written on the side panel: “Symbols with gold frame transform into WILD”. Some symbols land inside a gold frame; when they are part of a win, they do not disappear but turn into wilds for the next cascade, which keeps a sequence going.

The Ways Count in Practice

The maximum of 200,704 is reached only when every reel shows its full height with no stacked blocks eating up positions, which is why the counter usually sits well below it.

The stacked blocks work the other way round. A tank or a jet covering two or three rows counts as one symbol for that reel, so it reduces the ways count but also makes it more likely that the same symbol connects across the grid.

Reading the Free Spin Screens

The free-spin interface keeps three numbers in view. FEATURE WIN in the top-left corner is the running total of the whole round, FREE SPINS in the top-right counts the remaining spins, and the yellow box under the reels shows what the current spin has paid so far, cascade by cascade. The balance does not change during the round: in our session it stayed at 1,899.00 on every screen, because the feature win is only added at the end.

Triggering the Free Spins

Buying the Feature

The Buy Free Spins button on the left opens a dialog with the price in gold: 1,000.00 at a 10.00 bet – 100x the stake. Our round, at 265.8x, returned well over twice that price, but that is one result, not a promise.

The Numbers at Different Stakes

Because the buy price is a fixed multiple of the bet, it is easy to scale. At the 0.20 minimum the free spins cost 20.00; at a 1.00 bet they cost 100.00; at the 500 maximum the price is 50,000. The same 265.8x result we saw would have been worth 53.16 at the minimum bet and 132,900 at the maximum.

Spadegaming went for a cheerful cartoon look rather than a horror film. The lizard stands on the left, the gorilla on the right, both reacting to the action, and the city behind them is drawn in bright blue sky and glass towers.
