Deal or No Deal Live Overview

Deal or No Deal Live is Evolution’s live casino version of the famous TV game show, launched on 15 February 2019. It is played in a studio with a real presenter, sixteen briefcases and a banker who calls in with offers. SlotCatalog lists a 95.42% RTP. The table in our session accepted bets from €0.10 to €1,800, as shown in the title bar; limits vary from casino to casino.

How a Round Works

Each round has two parts. First you have to qualify by spinning a wheel. Once you are in, you watch the live game show: the presenter opens briefcases, the banker makes offers, and you decide whether to accept a deal or play on. Everyone who qualified for the same round plays the same show, but each player makes their own decisions.

Qualifying: the Three-Ring Wheel

The qualification wheel is made of three rings with gold and grey segments. While the rings are out of line, the display at the top says “Locked”. You spin, and if three gold segments line up under the pointer, the padlock opens: “Unlocked” and “Congratulations, you have qualified”. A countdown timer in the centre shows how much time is left before the next show starts; ours read 0:59 and 0:11 at different moments.

In our screenshots the spin bet was €1, and a “Qualify faster” option was offered next to the Normal mode. The player counter on the right shows how many people qualified for the next show – 20, 46 and 71 in three different rounds.

The Top Up Wheel

After qualifying, the game offers an “option to add more money to any briefcase”. This is the Top Up wheel, a single gold ring with values such as 2, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 50. Spinning it raises the amount in a briefcase before the show begins, so the potential prize on the board grows – at the cost of an extra bet.

The Briefcase Board

The sixteen briefcase values are listed in two columns at the sides of the screen. In our session the left column started with €0.10, €0.20, €0.50, €0.70, €1, €2, €3 and €5, and the right column continued with €8, €10, €12, €15, €20, €25 and €50. The top case changes with the qualification result – we saw it at €100, €500 and €555. Values that have already been revealed are greyed out during the show.

The Banker’s Offers

On stage, the presenter stands next to a silver briefcase and a black telephone. After each round of openings the banker calls, and the offer appears on screen with two buttons: Deal and No Deal.

In one show, with a total bet of €6 and mostly small values left on the board, the banker offered €4.70. The player accepted, and the screen confirmed “You win €4.70” with a shower of gold coins. In another show, where the €555 case was still in play, the offer was €72.83. The difference between the two shows how strongly the offer depends on which values remain unopened.

The Studio

The set copies the look of the TV show: dark red walls, rows of numbered briefcases on illuminated stands, and a presenter in a dark suit with a microphone. Between shows, the qualification wheels run over a blurred view of the studio, and a live ticker at the top reports what is happening on stage – “Game show in progress” or “Congratulations, you have qualified for the next game”.

Evolution also makes First Person Deal or No Deal, an RNG version without a live presenter. The live version reviewed here is the original studio game with a real host and scheduled shows.
