How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Dog Days Overview

Dog Days is a cartoon slot about a backyard full of dogs, made by Nailed It! Games and distributed through Games Global (Microgaming). It was released on 20 June 2023 and plays on 5 reels, 3 rows and 20 paylines. SlotCatalog lists an RTP of 96% with RTP ranges, medium volatility, a 2,500x maximum win and stakes from 0.20 to 100 per spin.

The game has three layers on top of the line wins: a Paw Collection meter above every reel, a Tasty Treat collection mode with its own prize ladder, and a free spins round. A pick-and-click Bonus Game and two ante-bet levels complete the package.

The Backyard and the Symbols

The reels sit under the roof of a wooden kennel, with a garden, a hedge and the Dog Days sign on the right and five sleepy dogs lined up along the bottom of the screen. The premium symbols are the people who look after the dogs – a red-haired woman with a drink and a chef carrying a bone – plus a food bowl and a studded collar. The low tier is the card set from 10 to A.

Three special symbols stand out in our screenshots: the golden dog WILD, the dog in sunglasses marked FREE SPINS, and a red gift box marked BONUS.

Bronze, Silver and Golden Bets

Before you spin, the game offers three bet levels. At a base stake of 10.00 the panel reads:

  • Bronze Bet – 10.00 per spin, 3 chances in the Tasty Treat collections.
  • Silver Bet – 15.00 per spin, 4 chances, and more Wild, Bonus and Free Spins symbols.
  • Golden Bet – 20.00 per spin, 5 chances, and even more of those symbols.

So Silver costs 50% more and Golden doubles the stake. According to the game’s published description, the three levels give hit rates of 34.32%, 39.92% and 42.93% respectively – SlotCatalog lists the 34.32% Bronze figure.

Paw Meters and the Tasty Treat Collection

Each reel has a paw-shaped meter above it. At the start of a session the game fills them with a boost – one of our screenshots, taken at a 1.00 stake, shows the banner “Starting Paws Added!” – and later screenshots show the counters on individual reels at 2 and 6. Paw symbols add to the meters, and the meters are saved between bet sizes and bet levels.

When a meter is full, the Tasty Treat Collection starts on that reel. Every spin that lands a treat moves you up the ladder on the left of the screen; a spin without one costs a chance, and landing a treat resets the chance tally. The feature ends after 10 treats or when the chances run out, and it pays the rung you reached.

Reading the Prize Ladder

The ten-step ladder is the heart of the game, and its values change with the dog portrait shown above it. At a 10.00 stake our screenshots show several different scales:

  • a ladder from 10 to 5,000 – 1x up to 500x the stake;
  • a ladder from 20 to 10,000 – 2x up to 1,000x;
  • with the Golden Bet active, a ladder from 30 to 15,000 – 3x up to 1,500x the base stake;
  • and one screenshot with a top rung of 25,000, which is the full 2,500x maximum win.

At the 1.00 stake the same 1x–500x ladder reads 1 to 500, so the rungs are always multiples of the base bet.

Our Base-Game Wins

All of these were played at a 10.00 base stake:

  • 200.00 (20x) – a Big Win, the best result in our session.
  • 62.00 (6.2x) – with the red-haired woman and a wild on the middle reel in view.
  • 40.00 (4x) – with a wild on reel 5 in view.
  • 28.00 (2.8x) – on a spin that also showed a Bonus box and a Free Spins symbol.
  • 26.00 (2.6x) – with two wilds and the chef on the reels.

Free Spins and the Bonus Game

The published rules describe the two features like this. Three, four or five Free Spins scatters award 10, 14 or 20 free spins, and extra scatters during the round add more. In the free spins both line wins and Bonus Game prizes are multiplied by x3, and the Tasty Treat meters keep working.

Three to five Bonus boxes in the base game (two to five in the free spins) start a pick-and-click game with prizes of 2x, 3x, 4x, 10x or 40x the stake, rising to up to 120x when it is triggered inside the free spins.

Who It Is For

Dog Days suits players who like a slow-building meter game rather than an all-or-nothing bonus. The paw meters give every spin a small purpose, and the ladder makes the size of each collection easy to follow. If you want more features for your money, the Silver and Golden bets add chances and symbols; if you prefer to keep the stake low, Bronze plays the same game at the base price.

Dog Days was not available at any of our six partner casinos when we checked on 28 September 2026, so the casino above is a general recommendation. The free demo on this page runs on the Games Global demo server.
