Guardians of Luxor 3 Overview

Guardians of Luxor 3 is a five-reel, three-row slot from Red Rake Gaming with 30 paylines, a 95.3% RTP, a high volatility rating and a published ceiling of 2,000x. It was released on 17 March 2025.

The Nile Outside the Frame

The reels are set into a painted stone panel with palms and the Nile visible down the right-hand edge of the screen, and a guardian statue standing in a niche on the left beside a vertical meter.

The symbols are flaming sevens, the Eye of Horus, an ankh, a winged falcon, a lotus brazier and a winged scarab marked WILD, above the guardians themselves.

The paytable puts the WILD at the top on €600.00 for five, which is 33x the stake, and runs down to €3.00 lines at the bottom. It also carries an explicit exclusion note: the scarab substitutes for everything except three named symbols, which are drawn out beside the text.

Three Pots Across the Top

Three jackpot fields sit above the reels, and the order is not the usual one: MINOR 180 on the left, GRAND 5,400 in the centre and MAJOR 720 on the right.

Against the 18.00 stake those are 10x, 300x and 40x – so the GRAND in the middle is worth more than seven times the MAJOR beside it. Putting the biggest pot in the centre rather than at one end is a small thing, but it is worth knowing before you glance at the row and assume left-to-right order.

The three figures hold steady across every capture, so they are bet-linked multiples rather than pools that grow while you watch.

Pick Until You Match Three

The bonus entry is the best idea in this game. A wall of stone tiles appears between two columns under the heading Pick until you match 3, and you keep turning tiles until three of them show the same prize.

The prizes are printed on the tiles as they turn, and they pair a spin count with a multiplier: 20 FREE GAMES 3X, 15 FREE GAMES 2X, 11 FREE GAMES 2X, 10 FREE GAMES 3X, 7 FREE GAMES 2X and 5 FREE GAMES 3X.

Note what that means: the shortest round carries the largest multiplier and the longest round carries it too. Five spins at 3x and twenty spins at 3x are both on the wall, and eleven spins at 2x sits between them – the usual length-against-strength trade is deliberately broken here.

A tally panel runs along the bottom of the screen showing the whole ladder – 20, 15, 11, 10, 7, 5 with their multipliers beneath – and a row of lamps fills in as each matching tile is found, so you can see how close every prize is at once.

What the Round Did

The round is easy to follow because a TOTAL WIN field runs beside the spins counter throughout. It opens at 18.00 and then reads 107.12, 187.29, 270.15 and finally 306.10.

Against the 18.00 stake that closing figure is 17x – from eleven spins at a 2x multiplier.

The spins counter is worth watching too: it reads 9, then 7, then 9 again before dropping to 3. It goes back up, so the round retriggers and eleven spins is a floor rather than a fixed allowance.

The individual spins inside it were modest and steady: 41.12, 25.29 and 34.95 – between one and a half and two and a half times the stake each.

The Guardians Fill a Reel

The game’s title symbol is not a normal tile. In one capture a full-height guardian portrait – a green-skinned figure in a striped headdress and red cloak – occupies the entire third reel, with the paylines drawn across it.

That spin paid 54.00, or 3x the stake, and another with two guardians on the middle reels paid 36.00. A grid of falcons returned 25.20.

The scarab wild behaves the same way – one capture has it expanded across the third reel above a line of Eye of Horus symbols, paying 96.00, which is 5.3x.

What the Base Game Paid

Outside the round the figures are small. One base spin with flaming sevens and a wild on the fifth reel returned 6.32 against the 18.00 bet – about a third of it.

The balance barely moves across the captures, running 945.40 and then 942.40, which tells its own story: on a high volatility 30-line game the base reels are there to get you to the tile wall.

A 95.3% Return

The return is slightly below average, and paired with a high volatility rating it describes what the captures show – a flat base game and everything of interest concentrated in a bonus you have to reach.

The published ceiling is 2,000x. The best thing here is a 17x round and a 5.3x expanded wild, so the cap would need the twenty-spin, 3x prize from the wall with the guardians filling reels throughout. The wall is where the game is decided, which is presumably why so much design went into it.
