Highway Rebels Overview

Highway Rebels is a five-reel, three-row video slot from Zeus Play with 15 fixed paylines. The studio’s own game page, now published under the Sky Interactive name, lists an RTP of 95.14% and medium volatility. SlotCatalog dates the release to 5 September 2024. No maximum win is published in either source, so we leave that figure open.

The numbers below come from our own demo session, played at a bet of €20.

Street Art on the Highway

The reels stand on a stage between two large speakers, with a city skyline and a neon-lit highway behind them. The characters are a gang of young street artists: a biker in red goggles, a girl with green hair and headphones, and a masked rider in a hood. A smartphone and a spray can complete the premium set, and the low symbols are the letters J, Q, K and A in a graffiti style.

The Wild is a police officer in a peaked cap and sunglasses, with the word WILD written in pink beneath him. The Scatter is a grey robot-like figure labelled SCATTER.

The Paytable

The paytable is printed in cash for the current bet. At €20 it reads:

  • Biker in red goggles: €660 for five, €160 for four, €60 for three
  • Green-haired girl: €400 / €100 / €40
  • Masked rider: €260 / €52 / €28
  • Smartphone: €200 / €32 / €16
  • Spray can: €120 / €28 / €8
  • A and K: €60 / €12 / €4
  • Q: €30 / €6 / €2

Five of the top symbol on a line are worth 33x the bet, and the smartphone pays 10x. Every symbol needs at least three matching on a line from the leftmost reel.

15 Lines

The paytable screen shows the 15 fixed paylines as diagrams, and the rules underneath state that all symbols pay from left to right, starting with the leftmost reel, and that only the highest win per line is paid. With fifteen lines on a three-row grid, most positions sit on several lines at once, so a Wild in the middle of the reels can complete more than one combination on the same spin.

The Wild at Work

The police Wild did most of the work in our captures. Two Wilds side by side at the top of reels 1 and 2 paid €34. Three Wilds spread over reels 2, 3 and 4 paid €68, or 3.4x the bet.

Our best spin had three Wilds – on reels 1, 3 and 5 – and a fourth on reel 4, with a smartphone on reel 2 joining them on the middle line. That spin returned €200, 10x the stake, which matches the paytable value for five smartphones on one line.

Smaller Wins

The base game also produced a steady series of small results. Three Wilds among low letters paid €14, and a spin with smartphones on the first two reels paid €16 – the paytable value for three smartphones. Over our captures the balance moved between roughly €4,390 and €4,944 on the €20 bet – the gentle swings you would expect from a medium-volatility game.

Free Spins and Bonus Choices

The Scatter is the key to the feature. SlotCatalog lists free spins with a free spins mode choice, sticky Wilds and random additional Wilds among the features, and the studio’s game page mentions three different bonus games to choose from. We did not trigger the feature in our session, so we cannot confirm how many spins each mode gives or how the sticky and random Wilds are shared between them.

What the captures do show is that the Scatter lands on several reels – we saw it on reels 1, 3 and 5 – so three or more in view are within reach of an ordinary spin.

Playing the Demo

The controls are kept to a minimum. The bet and the credit balance are shown in euro at the bottom left, the last win appears in the centre, and a round spin button with plus and minus keys for the stake sits on the right. A small menu icon opens the paytable and the line diagrams, which scroll on one long page.

Every win is flashed in large pink figures across the middle of the reels, and the winning symbols light up against a bright background, so it is easy to see which combination paid. The neon cityscape stays in view behind the reels throughout.

The Numbers to Keep in Mind

A 95.14% return is a little below the industry average of around 96%. Medium volatility means a mix of small line wins and less frequent larger results, and the paytable tops out at 33x for a single line. Without a published maximum win, the bonus games are where the bigger results have to come from.

Who Should Play It

Highway Rebels suits players who like a straightforward 15-line slot with a strong visual theme and a choice of bonus modes. The Wild shows up often, the paytable is easy to read in cash, and the demo above lets you look for the Scatters before you play for real money.
