How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

HOT RUSH: Crown Burst Overview

HOT RUSH: Crown Burst is a classic fruit slot from Redstone, the studio behind the Foxi (Fazi) catalogue, released on 6 February 2024. It plays on a 5x3 grid with just 5 fixed paylines, and the whole game turns on one symbol: a jewelled royal crown that can burst across the middle reel. SlotCatalog lists a 96.4% RTP, medium volatility and a maximum win of 1,200x the stake, with bets from 0.05 to 50.

A Short Game With Five Lines

Five lines is about as lean as a video slot gets: the three horizontal rows plus a V and an inverted V. That keeps the maths easy to follow. At our stake of 10.00 each line is worth 2.00, and every win in our screenshots can be traced line by line back to that figure.

The symbol set is the familiar fruit-machine line-up – cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, grapes, strawberries, bells, stars and the red seven – drawn in glossy 3D and set on a deep red, glowing background.

The Crown Burst

The crown is the wild, and it lands on the middle reel. When it hits, it can expand to cover the whole of reel 3 in flames. Because every one of the five lines passes through the middle reel, a full crown reel means that any pair of matching symbols on reels 1 and 2 already makes a three-of-a-kind on the line. In practice that is where most of the bigger hits in our session came from.

What Our Spins Showed

Our screenshots at a 10.00 stake let us work out the line values without a paytable:

  • Three cherries along the bottom row paid 20.00 – 2x the stake, or 10x the line bet.
  • Two cherry lines completed by the crown paid 40.00, exactly two lines of 20.00.
  • With the crown filling reel 3 and plums on reels 1 and 2, four lines of three plums paid 80.00 – again 20.00 per line.

The best spin was a 260.00 win, 26x the stake. Plums sat on the first two reels, the crown covered reel 3, and more plums followed on reel 4. Four of the five lines carried four plums and the bottom row three. With three plums worth 20.00, the arithmetic works out neatly: four lines at 60.00 plus one at 20.00 makes 260.00 – so four plums pay 60.00, 6x the stake.

Small Wins Count Too

At a lower stake of 5.00 (1.00 per line), a single seven next to the crown returned 10.00. The seven is the only symbol in our shots that paid for just two on a line, which marks it out as the premium symbol, in line with the rest of the Hot Rush series.

Three Jackpot Meters

Above the reels sit three jackpot meters: a diamond, a gold bar and a silver bar. In our session they read 50,880.40, 9,800.50 and 1,380.10. The figures stayed the same across every screenshot and did not change when we dropped the stake from 10.00 to 5.00. SlotCatalog lists the game with fixed jackpots; the screenshots do not show how the jackpots are won, so we will not guess at the trigger.

Gold Coins on the Reels

Several of our winning spins were accompanied by gold coins bouncing across the reels. They appear in the win animations alongside the crown, but the screenshots do not show them paying a separate prize, so we treat them as part of the presentation rather than a feature.

Graphics and Sound

The HOT RUSH logo sits in gold and red above a golden reel frame, with the Crown Burst name on a small banner beneath it. The background is a dark crimson field with faint geometric lines, and winning symbols catch fire. It is a simple look, but a clear one: the flaming crown on reel 3 is impossible to miss.

The Hot Rush Family

Redstone has built a whole series on the same idea. Hot Rush Triple Star and Hot Rush Fruit Lines use the same fruit set and fiery look with different twists. Crown Burst is the most compact of them: five lines and one expanding wild.

Who It Is For

HOT RUSH: Crown Burst is for players who like a traditional fruit machine without clutter. There are no free spins or bonus buys to learn – just five lines, a crown that fills the middle reel, and three jackpot meters overhead. With medium volatility and a 1,200x ceiling, it is a steady game rather than a wild one. All six casinos we checked carry it.
