How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Magic Carpet Overview

Magic Carpet is an Arabian Nights slot from KA Gaming, released on 7 August 2024. It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with 30 paylines, and bets run from $0.30 to $150. The cast comes straight from the familiar story – a young hero, a blue genie, a princess, a monkey and a parrot – with a magic lamp as the wild and a flying carpet as the scatter.

KA Gaming offers Magic Carpet at RTP settings from 82% to 98%, chosen by the casino; our data box shows 96%. No volatility rating or maximum win is published. All figures below come from our own demo session at the maximum total bet of $150, which is $5 per line.

Palaces Under a Purple Sky

The reels sit in a gold frame over a purple night sky, with the domes of a palace in the background. The symbols are drawn in round medallions: the hero, the genie, the princess, the monkey, the parrot and a curved sword, followed by the card ranks A, K, Q, J and 10 in the game’s ornate lettering. Two banners on either side of the grid show the 30 lines.

In the free games the background changes to a room full of gold coins, and a counter in the corner of the grid shows the current multiplier.

The Paytable

The paytable is printed in cash for the current stake. At $150 the hero is the top symbol: five pay $1,500 (10x the bet), four pay $500 and three pay $200. The genie pays $1,000, $400 and $175, the princess $750, $300 and $150, the monkey $500, $250 and $125, the parrot $400, $200 and $100, and the sword $350, $175 and $75.

The card ranks are lower: A pays $300, $150 and $50, K $250, $125 and $40, Q $200, $100 and $40, J $150, $75 and $25, and 10 $100, $50 and $25. Three flying carpet scatters pay $300 (2x) on top of the free games.

The Magic Lamp Wild

The magic lamp is the wild. It substitutes for the paying symbols and completes lines wherever it lands. Our first capture shows how it works: a lamp on the middle reel joined two monkeys on line 19 for $125, the three-monkey prize. SlotCatalog also notes that the game uses heavily stacked symbols, which fits the screens we saw, where the same medallion often filled several positions on a reel.

Free Games With a Growing Multiplier

Three flying carpets anywhere on the reels trigger the feature. In our session they landed side by side in the middle row of reels 2 to 4, and the game announced “You won 9 free games.”

The free games add a multiplier that grows with every spin – SlotCatalog describes it as a 1x increase after each spin, and the free games can be retriggered. By the time we captured the round the counter stood at 9x: three J’s on line 28, normally worth $25, paid $225, and the spin returned $450 in total. The free games had reached $2,550 at that point – 17x the bet, built almost entirely from low symbols multiplied late in the round.

What the Session Did

The base game was steady rather than spectacular. Besides the $125 monkey line, three swords on line 29 paid $75 and the spin returned $150 (1x). A lamp wild helped three Q’s on line 20 to $40, part of a $240 spin (1.6x). The balance moved between roughly $87,000 and $98,000 of demo money during the session.

Stacked Symbols and the Line Map

Because the symbols come in stacks, a single spin often shows the same character on two or three positions of one reel. With 30 lines crossing the grid, a stacked premium symbol on the first two reels can therefore connect with several lines at once. The same effect works for the card ranks, which is why several of our wins were built from Q or J lines rather than from the characters. The line map covers straight rows, V shapes and zigzags, and a line only pays when the matching symbols start on the first reel.

Paylines and Controls

The 30 paylines are fixed and shown in a colour-coded map in the rules. The main button starts a spin, and holding it opens autoplay. A Max Bet button jumps straight to the highest stake, and New Bet opens the bet selection.

Reading the Numbers

The paytable is compact: five of the top symbol are worth 10x, and even the scatter pays only 2x. That puts almost all of the game’s potential into the free games, where the multiplier keeps climbing. A late win in a long round is worth far more than an early one, and a retrigger extends the round while the multiplier is already high.

The spread inside the paytable is wide at the bottom: three 10s or three J’s return only $25, a sixth of the $150 stake, so most small line wins return less than the bet. The minimum stake is $0.30 – one cent per line – and the same ratios apply at every bet level.

With the RTP set by the casino and no published volatility figure, that structure is the best guide: small, regular base-game wins and a feature whose value depends on how long it lasts.

Who Should Play It

Magic Carpet suits players who like simple 30-line slots with a single, easy-to-follow bonus. The Arabian Nights theme is familiar, the paytable is printed in cash, and the growing multiplier makes every free game more valuable than the last.

If you want published return figures or a buy feature, look elsewhere; if you enjoy watching a multiplier climb through a free games round, it does that job well.
