Monkey's Treasure Overview

Monkey's Treasure is a minimalist jungle slot from OneTouch, released on 14 September 2023. It is about as compact as a video slot gets: a 4x1 grid with a single payline. OneTouch gives an RTP of 96.60%, medium volatility and a maximum line win of 2,200x the bet. Stakes run from 0.20 to 100, according to SlotCatalog.

Three Reels and a Feature Reel

The first three reels carry the paying symbols – sacred Aztec masks and colourful fruit mosaics carved into stone. The fourth reel, set in its own golden frame on the right, is different: OneTouch calls it the Feature Reel, and only special symbols can appear on it. In our screenshots it shows blue stone tiles marked 2, 5 and 10.

Those tiles are the game’s multipliers. The Feature Reel can hold three kinds of special symbol:

• Wild – substitutes for all symbols, which is the only way to make a four-of-a-kind.
• 2x, 5x and 10x multipliers – multiply the line win, whether it is three of a kind or a mixed combination.
• Respin symbols – grant a respin, even when they land on a winning line.

The Paytable

The in-game paytable lists the three Aztec masks at the top, with values for four and three of a kind:

• Golden sun mask: 80,000 for four, 6,000 for three
• Green feathered tiki: 8,000 for four, 2,000 for three
• Red tiki: 4,000 for four, 1,200 for three

The gap at the top is striking: four sun masks pay ten times as much as four green tikis, while three sun masks pay only three times as much as three green ones. The four-of-a-kind – and therefore the Wild on the Feature Reel – is where the big money sits. The fruit mosaics follow further down the paytable at lower values. OneTouch also notes that mixed masks pay, so any three different Aztec masks on the line make a win.

What Our Spins Showed

We played the demo at a stake of 40.00. The screenshots show a series of line wins:

• 20.00 – half the stake back
• 40.00 – with a “4 OF A KIND” banner across the reels, so a Wild completed the line
• 80.00 – 2x the bet
• 120.00 – 3x the bet, with the 5 and 10 multiplier tiles visible on the Feature Reel

All of these are modest, lower-paying hits. They show the typical rhythm of the game: a single line means fewer wins than a multi-line slot, and most of them are small – the multipliers and the Wild are what turn a win into a big one.

Where the 2,200x Comes From

With only one line, the maximum depends entirely on one combination. OneTouch describes the top prize as a 2,200x line win, made possible by the Wild on the Feature Reel completing four of a kind. On a three-of-a-kind, by contrast, the Feature Reel can add a 2x, 5x or 10x multiplier instead – a 10x on three sun masks is a very different spin from a plain three.

Graphics and Characters

The reels are set in a carved stone temple frame deep in the jungle, surrounded by giant leaves. Two cartoon monkeys – a pink one swinging on a vine at the top left and a blue one sitting at the bottom right – react to the spins, hopping and gesturing whenever a win lands. Wins are announced in large gold figures across the middle of the reels.
