Multi Hot Ways Overview

Multi Hot Ways is a compact fruit slot from SmartSoft Gaming, released on 24 July 2023. It plays on a 3x3 grid with 27 ways to win, and its signature is a multiplier wheel on the left of the reels that sets the value of every win. SlotCatalog lists a 96.29% RTP, medium-high volatility and a maximum win of 2,500x the bet. Stakes run from 0.20 to 20 per spin.

27 Ways on a 3x3 Grid

With three reels of three symbols, every symbol on the first reel can connect with any symbol of the same kind on the second and third reels. That gives 3 x 3 x 3 = 27 possible routes across the grid, and the game counts each of them separately. When a fruit lands twice on the same reel, the number of ways doubles; when it lands twice on two reels, it quadruples.

The Multiplier Wheel

The column to the left of the reels, labelled MULTIPLIER, rolls like a small slot of its own. In our screenshots it showed values from 1X to 5X – 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X and 5X all appear – and the value that stops in the glowing frame in the middle multiplies the whole spin. The win panel under the reels spells out the arithmetic for every hit, in the form symbol value x ways x multiplier, so you can always see exactly where the number came from.

What Our Spins Showed

We played the demo at a 20.00 stake, starting from a balance of 20,000. Every winning combination we caught paid 8.00 per way for three of a kind – 0.4 times the bet – and the difference between the wins came entirely from the ways and the multiplier:

• Cherries, 2 ways at 2X: 8.00 x 2 x 2 = 32.00
• Oranges, 8 ways at 1X: 8.00 x 8 x 1 = 64.00
• Oranges, 2 ways at 5X: 8.00 x 2 x 5 = 80.00
• Apricots, 2 ways at 5X: 8.00 x 2 x 5 = 80.00
• Apricots, 4 ways at 5X: 8.00 x 4 x 5 = 160.00 – 8x the bet

The eight-way orange spin is the clearest lesson in how the ways work: there were two oranges on each of the three reels, so the game counted 2 x 2 x 2 = 8 ways. The wheel stopped on 1X, so the spin paid 64.00; the same eight ways at 5X would have been worth 320.00, or 16x the bet.

Two Minutes of Play

The clock in the corner of our screenshots lets us follow the session in order. Over roughly two minutes the balance went from 20,000.00 to 19,900, 19,772, 19,752, 19,444 and finally 19,132.00 – about 43 stakes down, even though five of the spins in between paid 32 to 160. That is what medium-high volatility looks like at close range: frequent small returns, with the real money reserved for spins where a big multiplier and a lot of ways arrive together.

The Symbols

The reels carry the full classic fruit line-up: cherries, oranges, apricots, plums, grapes and watermelons, plus golden bells, flaming red 77 sevens and a golden $$ symbol. The sevens, bells and the dollar symbol sit at the top of the range; in our session every paying hit came from the fruit.

The Control Panel

On the right of the reels are the spin and autoplay buttons, a large round HOLD & SPIN button and a golden $ button. On several of our winning screens an extra x2 button appears at the top of the panel. SlotCatalog lists a Risk/Gamble (Double) feature for this game, which is where a doubling option would come in; we did not use it in our session.

Graphics and Sound

The grid sits on a deep green jungle background of palm leaves, framed by a thin neon border, with the MULTI HOT Ways logo in a lit-up diamond sign above it. Winning symbols catch fire – each one burns inside an orange flame frame – and the multiplier wheel glows the same colour when it stops. It is a bright, fast, arcade-style take on the classic fruit machine.

How the Maximum Is Reached

The 2,500x ceiling needs the top symbols, a full grid of ways and a high multiplier on the same spin. Because every win is multiplied by the wheel, the difference between a 1X and a 5X stop is five times the payout for exactly the same symbols – that is where the medium-high volatility comes from.
