Shining Royal 5 Overview

Shining Royal 5 is a classic fruit slot from GameArt, released on 11 June 2024. It plays on 5 reels and 3 rows with only 5 fixed paylines, and it is the smallest member of the Shining Royal family, which also includes 20, 40 and 100-line versions.

SlotCatalog lists an RTP of 96.34%, medium volatility and a maximum win of 1,000x the bet, with stakes from 0.10 to 200. The numbers below come from our own session, played at a bet of $12.50, which means $2.50 on each of the five lines.

A Red and Gold Fruit Machine

The reels sit on a deep red background under a gold SHINING ROYAL 5 logo, with a small “5 LINES” plaque on each side of the grid. The symbols are the familiar classic set: a red seven, a golden dollar sign, a watermelon, a bell, grapes, a lemon, cherries, a plum and an orange.

The royal part of the name comes from the wild, a red and gold crown marked WILD. When symbols form a winning line they burst into flame, and the win amount appears in a gold box in the middle of the screen.

The Paytable

The info pages show every prize in cash for the current bet. At $12.50, five sevens pay $2,500 (200x), four pay $625 (50x) and three pay $37.50 (3x).

The dollar sign and the watermelon share the next tier: $500 for five (40x), $125 for four and $37.50 for three. Cherries, plums and oranges pay $187.50 for five (15x), $37.50 for four and $25 for three. The page we captured does not show the grapes, lemon and bell, so we do not quote their values.

Five Lines, Kept Simple

The rules screen draws the five lines on a small grid: line 1 runs across the middle row, line 2 across the top and line 3 across the bottom, while lines 4 and 5 are a V and an inverted V. All five are always active, so the only choice is the total bet.

Because there are so few lines, each one matters. A full screen of sevens would pay five times $2,500, or $12,500 at our stake – exactly 1,000x, the published maximum win. The top prize of the game is therefore a full-screen line hit, not a separate jackpot.

The Crown Wild

The crown wild appears on the three middle reels and, when it lands, it grows to fill the whole reel. It substitutes for the other symbols and turns a reel into a guaranteed part of every line that crosses it.

Our captures show how strong that is on a five-line game. In one spin two full columns of crowns on reels 3 and 4 joined a pair of sevens on reels 1 and 2 to make four sevens on a line, and the spin paid $625 – 50x the bet. In another, three reels of crowns in the middle carried a line of lemons to $112.50 (9x). SlotCatalog also lists a scatter symbol, but it did not appear in our screenshots.

What the Session Did

The smaller wins came from fruit lines. A row of grapes on the middle line paid $62.50 (5x), and a spin with a wild on reel 3 and a scattering of cherries paid $187.50 (15x). The balance moved between roughly $200 and $1,560 over the captures, the kind of swing you would expect from a medium-volatility game with a top-heavy paytable.

The Gamble Feature

After a win you can collect or gamble. We took the $625 win into the gamble and doubled it once to a current win of $1,250. From there the screen offered two choices: guess the colour of the next card (red or black) to double it to $2,500, or guess the suit to quadruple it to $5,000. The game allows several gambles in a row – the message bar read “You have 4 gambles remaining”.

Who Should Play It

Shining Royal 5 suits players who like the oldest style of fruit machine: five lines, a short paytable and one feature that does the heavy lifting. The expanding crown wild keeps the base game interesting, and the gamble gives you a way to push a win further if you are willing to take the risk.
