Single Deck Blackjack Overview

Single Deck Blackjack is an RNG table game from Platipus, dealt from one deck on a green felt table with up to three boxes in front of you. The rules are printed on the felt: Blackjack pays 6 to 5, the dealer must stand on 17 and draw to 16, and insurance pays 2 to 1. Platipus does not publish an RTP for this table, so we do not quote one.

Card Values and the Goal

The aim is the classic one: finish closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Cards from two to ten count at face value, Jacks, Queens and Kings count as ten, and an Ace counts as one or eleven, whichever helps the hand. The game shows both totals while an Ace can still go either way. An Ace with any ten-value card is a Blackjack, which beats any other 21.

Bets and Boxes

Each box takes its own stake, from a minimum of $0.5 to a maximum of $50, and chips start at 0.5. In our session we played three boxes at the same time – $4, $3 and $5, a total bet of $12 – before pressing DEAL. The demo balance of $9,988 on the screen is what was left of the starting $10,000 once those chips were placed. The CLEAR button takes the chips back off the table before the deal.

Your Options

Once the cards are out, the controls at the bottom offer Surrender, Double, Stand, Hit and Split. Surrender gives up the hand for half the stake, and the old rules text for this table notes that it is only allowed on the first two cards, before any hit, double or split.

A Hand From Our Session

The dealer showed a 2. Our boxes held a 7 and a King (17), a King and a Queen (20), and an Ace-5 – the game marks it as 6/16, the soft total. We kept drawing on the last box: a 4, a 6 and another Ace took it to 17. The dealer then turned a Jack and a Queen for 22 and busted, so all three boxes were paid even money: a total win of $24.00 on the $12 wagered.

The 6 to 5 Rule

The one rule to notice is the Blackjack payout. At 6 to 5 a natural on a $5 stake returns $6 in profit rather than the $7.50 a 3 to 2 table would pay. Single-deck tables often trade the favourable deck count for this lower payout, so it is worth checking before you sit down.

Where to Play

Our partner casinos list tables called Single Deck BlackJack, but from Espresso and Play’n GO; this Platipus version was not in any of their libraries when we checked on 28 September 2026. The free demo on this page runs on Platipus’ own server.
