Sorcerer and Demon Overview

Sorcerer and Demon is a dark-fantasy video slot from KA Gaming. It runs on five reels and three rows with 243 ways to win, so matching symbols only need to land on adjacent reels from the left, in any row. Light Against Darkness

The screen is split down the middle. Blue lightning crackles along the left edge, a red inferno burns on the right, and the words 243 WAYS glow on both sides of the gold-framed reels. The two title characters are a white-robed sorceress with a crystal staff and a red-haired demon with horns, and together they make up the Wild symbol.

The rest of the reels are filled with occult objects. A gold-and-blue emblem is the top symbol, followed by a flaming trident, a jewelled spell book, a burning skull and two heart symbols – one with angel wings and one with demon horns. The low end is made up of the royals A, K, Q and J plus 10 and 9.

How 243 Ways Pay

Every symbol on a reel counts, so two of the same symbol on one reel doubles the combination. That is how the base game produced its bigger wins: in one spin, flaming tridents landed three times on reel 1 and twice on reel 3, and 6 ways of five tridents paid 900.00 – about 13.6x the bet.

The other base-game wins we recorded follow the same pattern. Tridents with a Wild on reel 4 paid 300.00, which is 2 ways of the 150.00 five-of-a-kind. Burning skulls stacked down the whole of reel 1, helped by a Wild on reel 2, paid 337.50 – 3 ways of 112.50. Spell books spread over the top two rows paid 450.00, or 4 ways of the same value.

The lesson is simple: in this game the number of ways matters more than the symbol. Four ways of a mid-value book beat a single line of the top emblem, and a symbol that fills a whole reel multiplies everything that connects to it.

The Paytable

At a total bet of 66.00 the symbol values for five, four and three of a kind were:

Single five-of-a-kind values are modest – the emblem line is worth about 6.8x the bet – so the game relies on stacking several ways together rather than on one big symbol.

The Controls

The control bar is kept simple. The win box and the TOTAL BET display sit on the left, the balance on the right, and between them are three round buttons: NEW BET to change the stake, the large orange spin button, and MAX BET to jump straight to the top stake. Holding the spin button starts autoplay, and a small i button opens the paytable and rules.

During the free games the spin button is replaced by a counter showing how many games are left, and a separate TOTAL BONUS WIN box keeps a running score of the feature.

Scatters and Free Games

The Two Wild Reels

The free games change the layout completely. The sorceress fills all of reel 1 and the demon fills all of reel 5, both marked WILD, so every free game starts with the two outer reels already covered. Any symbol that lands on reels 2, 3 and 4 in adjacent positions becomes a five-of-a-kind, and because the Wild reels are three rows tall, each one counts three times.

The effect is clear in our captures. Three winged hearts on the middle reels paid 506.25 – that is 9 ways of the 56.25 five-of-a-kind value, from a symbol near the bottom of the table. A spin with spell books on reels 2, 3 and 4 produced a MEGA WIN of 1,068.75, and the total bonus win climbed from 1,064.43 to 1,667.80 with free games still left to play.

What the Session Did

Our demo balance moved between 59,398.06 and 62,807.03 over the captures. In the base game the wins came from the mid-value symbols stacking over several ways, and the free games were clearly the strongest part of the session.

With the two Wild reels in place, even the hearts pay like premium symbols, so the size of a bonus depends mostly on how often the middle reels line up.

A quick calculation shows the potential. With both outer reels Wild, a single emblem on each of reels 2, 3 and 4 already makes 9 ways of 450.00, or 4,050.00 – more than 61x the bet from one free game. Two emblems on each middle reel would push that to 72 ways. We did not see that happen, but it shows where the top of the game lies.
