How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

The King: Crimson Crown Overview

The King: Crimson Crown is a compact fruit slot from Evoplay, released on 20 August 2026. It plays on a 3x3 grid with 5 fixed paylines, and behind the cherries, plums and lucky sevens sits a collecting mechanic: gold coins land on the outer reels, a bearded King Collector lands in the middle, and when the two meet, the King sweeps up every value in sight – including four fixed jackpots.

The in-game rules list the RTP at 95.95% for normal play, rising to 96.07% and 96.12% when you buy one of the two bonus games. SlotCatalog rates the volatility as medium-high, gives a hit frequency of 17.77% and a maximum win of 3,554x the stake, with bets from 0.10 to 75.

Reels, Symbols and the Paytable

The game has eight regular symbols, a Wild, two Bonus symbols (the Coin and the King Collector), a Bonus game and a Bonus Buy. Wins are formed by three identical symbols along one of the five lines, from left to right, and the paytable is short enough to learn in a minute. Payouts are shown as multiples of the total bet:

  • Wild 777 – 50x for three
  • Bells – 30x
  • BAR – 20x
  • Grapes and Watermelon – 16x each
  • Lemon, Orange and Plum – 4x each
  • Cherries – 1x

The Wild is the red triple seven marked WILD. It substitutes for all regular symbols, but not for Coins or the King Collector.

Base-Game Wins in Our Session

We played at a bet of 50. The paytable figures line up exactly with what the reels paid:

  • 400 (8x) – a Wild on the middle reel completed two orange lines at once, each paying 4x.
  • 800 (16x) – a single diagonal line, with a Wild on reel 1 and a watermelon on reel 3.
  • 300 (6x) – a King's Power collection, covered below.

Coins and the King Collector

Coin symbols appear only on reels 1 and 3, and each one carries a random value of 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x or 10x the bet – or one of the four jackpot labels. The King Collector appears only on reel 2 and has no value of its own. In the base game it is one of the two conditions for starting the Bonus game.

King's Power

When at least one Coin and one King Collector land together in the main game, King's Power activates: the King collects the values of every Coin on the grid, jackpot Coins included, and adds them to the spin's win. In our screenshot, a 200 Coin and a 100 Coin were swept up by a single King for a 300 win.

Coin Rush

The game can also start the Bonus game at random. If at least one Bonus symbol is on the reels, Coin Rush may drop two extra Coin or King Collector symbols into random positions before the feature begins, turning a near miss into a trigger.

The Bonus Game

The Bonus game starts when there is at least one Bonus symbol on each reel. It is a classic hold-and-respin round:

  • It begins with 3 spins, and every new Bonus symbol resets the counter to 3.
  • Regular symbols fade away and the reels are replaced by special reels holding only Bonus symbols and blanks.
  • All Coin values fly into the King Collector, and when the round ends the sums on every King are added together.
  • The round is played at the bet of the triggering spin.

Our screenshots show the round in full flow: three King Collectors stacked on the middle reel, each holding 1,100, and later two Kings showing 2,600 each – 52x the bet per King, from a 50 stake.

Four Fixed Jackpots

The jackpots can only be won in the Bonus game, when the matching jackpot Coin is collected:

  • Grand – 1,000x the bet (50,000 at a 50 bet)
  • Major – 100x (5,000)
  • Minor – 35x (1,750)
  • Mini – 20x (1,000)

The jackpot values are displayed in money on the left side of the screen and move with your stake.

Bonus Buy

The shop offers two direct routes into the feature. After the purchase the reels spin and deliver at least one King Collector and two Coins, and the round is played at the bet used for the purchase:

  • Bonus Game – 52x the total bet (2,600 at a 50 bet)
  • Super Bonus Game – 92x (4,600), starting with 3 King Collectors

Buying is only possible in the main game, and the feature may not be available in all markets.

RTP and the Numbers

Evoplay publishes three separate return figures in the rules, one for each way of playing:

  • Normal mode – 95.95%
  • Bonus Game bought – 96.07%
  • Super Bonus Game bought – 96.12%

So the purchases return slightly more over the long run than regular spins, which is common for Evoplay titles. The 3,554x ceiling listed by SlotCatalog is well above the 1,000x Grand jackpot, which tells you the top wins come from a Grand Coin collected together with a stack of high-value Coins and several King Collectors in the same Bonus game. The rules also note that malfunction voids all pays and plays, and that the game version we played was 1.101.1, with rules dated 21 July 2026.

Theme and Presentation

The frame is gold and deep crimson, a crown piled high with coins sits above the reels, and the King himself – bearded, crowned and grinning – takes centre stage whenever he lands. The fruit symbols are glossy and classic, and the jackpot plaques down the left side keep the prize ladder in view at all times.

Who It Is For

The King: Crimson Crown suits players who like classic three-reel fruit machines but want a modern feature on top. The base game is simple and quick, the collecting mechanic gives every Coin a purpose, and the Super Bonus Game is a clear option for those who want to start the round with three Kings already on the reels.
