How we rate games

Every slot is scored on the same four criteria, using the game's published data: RTP (40%), maximum win potential (25%), bonus features described in our review (30%) and how recent the release is (5%). Our editors can adjust a score after playing the game. Missing data counts as neutral. The score reflects the game's numbers and features, not your chances of winning; slots are games of chance, so please play responsibly.

Halloween Farm Overview

Halloween Farm is a Halloween slot from GameArt, released on 3 October 2023. The idea is simple and fun: an ordinary farmyard has turned into a monster party. The dog, the cow, the pig and the sheep are all dressed up for the night, a scarecrow with a pumpkin head keeps watch next to the reels, and the barn behind them glows with candles and jack-o’-lanterns. The game runs on a 5x3 grid with 25 paylines, and SlotCatalog lists a 94% RTP (the game comes in several RTP versions). GameArt does not publish a maximum win or a volatility rating for this title.

The Symbols

The high-paying symbols are the costumed animals: a grinning dog, a zombie cow, a pig wrapped like a mummy and a sheep in a top hat. The low symbols are the card ranks 9, 10, J, Q, K and A in spooky green and purple. A witch hen in a pointed hat carries the WILD label, and a flaming jack-o’-lantern with the word SCATTER triggers the bonus.

What Our Base Game Spins Showed

At a $25 stake, three dogs on a line paid $50 – exactly 2x the bet. At a lower $1.25 stake, three flaming pumpkin scatters landed and paid $2.50, again 2x the bet, before the free spins began. Both wins scale directly with the stake, so the paytable reads the same at any bet level.

The Gamble Feature

After a base game win, Halloween Farm offers a classic card gamble. Our $50.00 win could be staked on red or black for $100.00 (x2), or on the suit for $200.00 (x4). The screen also showed “You have 5 gambles remaining” – so a lucky run could multiply a win several times, and the Collect button takes the money at any point.

Buying the Bonus

The Buy Bonus panel has two options. At a $25 stake:

  • Free Spins: $1,075.00 – 43x the bet
  • Free Spins + Surprize: $6,250.00 – 250x the bet

The expensive option shows a whole cluster of pumpkin scatters on its icon, which suggests a stronger start to the round; the game itself only calls it a “surprize”, so we do not guess at what exactly it adds.

Free Spins and the Second Reel Set

Three scatters open the free spins with a message that explains the whole feature: “You won 12 freespins and a 2nd reel set. Collect eggs to unlock additional reel sets.”

From the very first free spin the screen is split into a 2x2 layout. The two upper reel sets spin, while the two lower ones are still locked behind padlocks, marked 9X and 14X. A counter in the top right corner, labelled Collected, keeps count of what you have gathered. The collectibles on the reels are glowing pumpkins marked BONUS; the game’s own message calls them “eggs”. Reach 9 and the third reel set opens; reach 14 and the fourth one joins in.

How Our 12 Free Spins Went

Our round started with the Collected counter at 1X and the win meter at $2.50 – the scatter payout. By free spin 4 of 12 the counter had jumped to 12X, so the third reel set was already open, and a BIG WIN of $44.00 took the round total to $47.75.

By free spin 7 of 12 the counter showed 15X, past the 14 needed for the last lock, and all four reel sets were spinning together. That spin added a $5.00 line win, and the meter read $55.23 – about 44x the $1.25 stake, with five free spins still to go. Four reel sets spinning at once means four chances at a line win on every spin, which is where the feature gets its power.

Watching the Counter Fill

Our first free spin already shows how the collection works. On the upper-left reel set a column of glowing BONUS pumpkins filled the first reels, and more of them sat on the upper-right set. The Collected counter moved straight away, and by the fourth spin it had passed the 9 needed for the third reel set. In other words, the locks are not a distant target: in our round the third set opened within four spins and the fourth within seven.

Each reel set is a full 5x3 game with its own 25 lines, so once all four are open, a single free spin plays 100 lines at the same stake. That is the real multiplier of this feature – not a number on a badge, but four times the chances on every spin that is left.

The Numbers at Different Stakes

Everything in Halloween Farm scales with the bet. At the $1.25 stake we used in the free spins, the regular buy would cost about $53.75 and the Surprize option $312.50. At the $25 stake shown on the buy panel, the same options cost $1,075 and $6,250. Our free spins total of $55.23 at $1.25 – with five spins still to play – is already more than the price of the regular buy at that stake.

Stacks and Sticky Wilds

SlotCatalog lists stacked symbols and sticky wilds among the game’s features, alongside the reel-set changing. The free spins screenshots show tall stacks of the witch-hen wild filling whole reels on several reel sets at once – exactly the kind of screen where stacked and sticky wilds pay off across 25 lines.

Graphics and Sound

GameArt gives the base game a cool blue night palette, with a moon behind the barn and candles on the reel frame. When the free spins begin, the whole scene turns warm orange, the reels are framed in wooden planks and the barn roof glows. The animal characters are drawn with plenty of humour – the cow is a zombie, the pig a mummy, the sheep a Victorian gentleman, while a pumpkin-headed scarecrow leans on a pitchfork next to the reels.

Who It Is For

Halloween Farm suits players who enjoy a light-hearted theme and a free spins round that grows as it goes. The base game is a classic 25-line slot with a card gamble, and the real interest lies in unlocking all four reel sets during the free spins. Two buy options – 43x and 250x – let you choose how hard to push. When we checked on 25 September 2026, all six of our partner casinos carried it.
